"Well, we're fraternal twins. Fraternal twins generally look no more alike than any other siblings - we just happened to have shared a womb," he shrugged. "And besides, I'm a fellow, and she's a lady. It'd be a little odd if we were identical."
What was it like, having a twin? He considered. "When Mariana told me I had a sister, and that we were picking her up from the airport that day, I honestly thought I would hate her and that she would ruin my life. But I think... the first time I saw her, I just loved her. In a perfectly natural way, that is, nothing untoward! We're having to muck in together, and we're still getting used to each other, but we've literally known each other two weeks, and I already feel very close to her. And very protective."
When she thanked him for the compliment, he swallowed again. "You're welcome," he said. He felt himself leaning in... but dash it all, he was a gentleman, and he couldn't just take a liberty like that. Could he? He stopped himself when their lips were inches apart.
"I do beg your pardon," he murmured. "I fear I may be about to take a dreadful liberty..."
He brushed his lips over hers just slightly, in the barest whisper of a kiss, before drawing back to give her space.
