Due to a recent string of spamming, I've made the IC community Friends Only.

With the recent string of spam comments, my memory was jogged and this website popped to mind. It gives you the code for this handy-dandy little blog button.
All you have to do is put this in an entry (not under a lj-cut) and, if you'd like, the userinfo could also have one. I put it on Astoria's profile post in this journal, right underneath all of the info so it was outside of the cut tag. It takes the bot trolling to make comments and redirects it to a page that traps the bot. It feeds the bot an almost infinite loop of dynamically generated fake email addresses, mostly on known spammer owned domains. This makes the bot's harvested lists of emails practically useless and unable to be sold. This won't necessarily stop the annoying comments, but it does do a bit of a whammy back to the botters if nothing else.
