RP: Tired ...
Who: Corey, Roland, Rory
Where: their house
When: late morning, Feb 13, 2010
Rating/Warning: None?
Summary: Corey is tired from all her healing activities
Status: Complete

Outside of the house, Corey kicked the walls to knock the worst of the snow from her boots before she unlocked the door to let herself in. She was still convinced they needed to get a dog. A big one, like a St. Bernard that could come bounding up to the door to say hi when she got home. "Rooooooolaaannnd," she called out as she toed her boots off, making sure not to step on the melting snow.

Shrugging out of her coat, she wiped the worst of the snow from her hair. "It's snowing out," she announced to him - wherever he was - before she started to move deeper into the house to find him.

Because, you know, it hadn't been snowing all night or anything.

"Colorful's one way to go," she admitted with a soft laugh. "Some of them aren't so bad, but ... then there're the others."

Rory set her cup on the tray before taking one of the cookies. Breaking it in half, she nibbled on one point of it before she shook her head at her thoughts. She wondered if she was keeping him here, or if he really didn't mind staying to chat, but she figured if he wanted to leave, he could.

"So are you working anywhere, or ... school?" She thought he might be a touch old for school, but maybe not.

He chuckled quietly, shaking his head. He didn't really use the journals much (or at all), but sometimes he read them and some folks did seem quite ... interesting.

"Working. I'm a security guard for Spencer's," he shrugged, "but I've been thinking about police work. It's something I've thought about before, but we've never really planned on living in one place long enough for it to be worth it."

Not to mention, some of the things he'd done as a hunter, but he didn't have a record. "I don't really know how well that would mix with being in a coven, though," he admitted, unsure why he was sharing all this with her.

"Suppose you've got to stick around here now, huh?" Rory said. Which she supposed was a dumb question - of course they did, if they were part of the coven.

Maybe she'd be stuck here indefinitely as well. Or maybe she'd actually want to mo-- no, that wasn't happening.

"Well, if you do want a leg up into the local police force, I could drop a good word or two for you," she offered. "Like, he's my neighbor. Doesn't have loud parties. Already experienced with handguns."

She shrugged a little. "Don't see why it would be a problem. Might even be an asset, to have someone on the inside to smooth over any bumps," she continued thoughtfully.

"Yeah," he agreed. Though, none of the coven was really used to being a coven and he didn't know if they'd ever be as close as some were, but who knew. Maybe they'd all bond or something.

"I can't decide if I think that would help or hinder me, but I appreciate the offer," he replied teasingly, a light grin on his lips.

But maybe he'd look into it seriously. If Rory didn't think it would be a problem, well, surely that counted for something. Suddenly he wondered if he was bothering her and he scratched the side of his neck, "I... should probably go. I don't want to ... impose and all that."

Rory oh so maturely stuck out her tongue at him. "I'll have you know, the local police force likes me just fine. I've never keyed any of their cars." A wicked grin tugged at her lips.

When he mentioned imposing, she gave consideration to pointing out that he wasn't ... but she really should get some work done. Now that her driveway was clear, she had no reason not to pop out to the field and see what was going on out there.

"Sure," she agreed. "You're more than welcome to shovel my driveway the next time it snows, too," she generously offered.

Roland grinned, pushing up to his feet. He realized he wouldn't have minded her making up some excuse for him to stay, but it was just as well. He didn't want to overstay his welcome and he had to work later anyway.

"I might follow through on that, but now you've got me trained to expect cookies in return," he pointed out as he put his coat back on.

"I'll see you around," he hesitated, "Rory? Or do you prefer Agent Marshall?" He finished with a teasing smile.

"I'll be sure to have some on hand then. I might even actually bake them instead of just buying the kind that come ready made," she teased back.

A grin tugged at her lips. "Rory's fine. If you called me Agent Marshall, I might have to gear up to kick you or somethin'. Usually the only people who call me that are my bosses when they're about to tell me all about how I didn't follow the book again."

It was a surprisingly frequent occurrence, though never really bad enough to get her in any serious trouble.

"Rory it is," he agreed with a grin, not that he really expected her to kick him. Well, maybe she would; he supposed he didn't know her well enough to assume if she would follow through.

"I'll see you later," he murmured, his chin dipping in a light nod before he made something of an awkward motion towards the door and then began to show himself to it.

Glancing back at her, he smiled and let himself out if she had nothing else to add.
