RP: Limbs did not break
Who: Neytiri, open to house members & visitors
Where: Her house
When: Morning hours, February 7, 2010
Rating/Warning: None? Cranky alien? idk
Summary: Neytiri attempts to understand how she is broken
Status: Open, ongoing

When it had happened in Hell, the breaking of her ankle, it had genuinely surprised her. She had known that the sky people were not as sturdy as the Na'vi, but to be that fragile? It was nearly unthinkable. Fortunately, by the time it had happened, she was no longer alone with Barney, but had joined with another woman with a large black cat.

Together, they had survived until the rescue, though Neytiri had been in no small amount of pain. She had been tended by the doctor who had also been in Hell. A heavy cast was on her leg, and it made her already questionable balance even moreso. She did not like it, but she found that laying on the couch did tend to gain her a bit of sympathy and people would bring her things she required - like food and drink. They'd set up a bedroom of sorts downstairs so she wouldn't risk injury on the stairs.

At least something good had come of this ... Jaime seemed somewhat more accepting of her. At least she was not met with glares and snippy comments.

Exhaling softly, a little bored and a little irritated that she couldn't move around, she gazed at the television and some inane program. How did people stand rotting their brains with this? Picking up her device, she checked the journals but there was nothing new of interest to speak of. Perhaps things would be quiet now.

She couldn't decide if that was better or worse.

She listened as Dug repeated his prior offer, and was moderately impressed that he seemed to recall he'd said the things before. A smile played at her lips before she exhaled a subtle, soft sigh.

"Bring me your ball," she said. "I will throw it for you."

It was something to do, and it would keep him out of Mal and Jaime's hair for a bit ... and it didn't involve her using her leg.

He was very excited to do so. It felt like he was helping, giving her something to do. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't, but... she seemed to be amiable to the idea, and he never passed up an opportunity to run around the living room, chasing a ball, no matter how many people made fun of him for it.

"Okay! Okay! Oh boy!" he said, running around in a circle for a minute, searching for his ball.

Finally finding it, he brought it over to her (with his hands) and eagerly awaited her throw so that he could chase it around. He could honestly spend all afternoon doing this and not get bored in the slightest.

Neytiri offered Dug a slight smile as she took the ball. At least he didn't use his mouth; that would have been awkward, a little disgusting, and unnatural.

Almost absently, she tossed the ball toward the cleared place. She wouldn't have any problem doing this for the next half-hour or so, and by then hopefully he'd be worn out enough to simply watch TV or have a nap.

Either way, it took her mind off her leg ... for now.
