Thread: Riku and Kitty's Wedding Reception
Who: Riku, Kitty and all guests!
When: September 18th. 4pm --> Onwards!
Where: Waverly Inn.
What: Wedding Reception. Dinner, dancing, speeches, all that good stuff.
Rating: Low! It's a wedding!
Notes: Feel free to post your characters at any point during the reception. At a table having the meal, or dancing, or getting up to speak, or mingling!
The staff of the Waverly Inn had really out done themselves. The large room was beautifully done up for the wedding reception. Crisp linens covered the round tables that were clustered to one side of the room, with elegant floral centerpieces. At each place setting there was a little bottle of bubbles and little boxes of chocolates as the place favours.
The other side of the room was a dance floor, with a DJ set up in one corner, reading to play all the most fun music to dance to, as selected earlier by the bride and groom. At the front of the room was the head table, long and stretching, where the bride and groom would sit, flanked by their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
The buffet was also set up at the front. They had decided on that, to have something for everyone. It was a lovely buffet, that started with fresh rolls that were crisp on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. Various salads came next, and then mixed vegetables and rice dishes. There were trays of sushi and other Japanese dishes, and then trays of chicken and roast beef, as well as an eggplant casserole for the vegetarians. Dessert would come out later, sweets and little cakes - and of course the wedding cake. A beautiful white and pink layer cake (with a cute sock monkey bride and groom on the top), surrounded by rings of cupcakes. Each layer of the cake was a different flavour, and the cupcakes were a variety of flavours as well.
There was a cash bar for alcoholic delights, set up to one side as well. Of course there were bottles of wine for every table, but the bar was there for those who wanted a bit more than just a few glasses of wine!
Guests came at 4 o'clock, while Kitty and Riku and the wedding party were still out, finishing up with all of the photographs. The wedding party came at five, announced at the door. The bridesmaids and groomsmen walking in together, and then the emcee spoke, "And now may I present, Mr. and Mrs. Kimura." And of course everyone applauded as Riku and Kitty entered the room and the reception began properly.
