After The Moon
Who: Eden & Cathair
Where: Cathair's cottage
When: Early morning

That evening... Eden had taken to the trees once more. She had left a wake of destruction behind her and quite a few dead creatures. She'd played cat and mouse with several monkeys until they had gone into an utter frenzy and she had decided to just flat out eat them. Her beastly form was rather freeing if she had been able to think about it at all but to be honest she hadn't. Between the utter pain she'd felt at first and the wild desire to destroy and kill just because she could, there had been very little ability to think at all.

Some time in the wee hours before sunrise, she had made her way back into town padding softly along. She had picked up on a particular scent and had followed it to a door... Eden had then spent the next hours clawing at it but not trying particularly hard to get in. It was rather like she was trying to purposely scare whatever it was she had followed. When the sun had finally begun to rise, the pain retook her once more and her naked form was thusly curled into a ball at the foot of the door asleep. That was where she stayed not moving a single inch.

"I don't actually recall doing it so I don't think it counts, love," she wasn't really paying attention to how that sounded but she couldn't ignore the defensiveness bubbling up inside of her. How strange it was to feel that.

Eden breathed deeply then nodded. She didn't exactly have a choice if she wanted to get clean. Very carefully, she stood up resting her shoulder against the tiled wall with her eyes half closed. The corner of her mouth perked up, "I don't need a t-shirt. It's not like I have any unseen modesty to protect."

Cathair made certain the water was still warm before turning it on her. "All right, then I still feel special, since you came to try to bash my door down." He didn't care how either of them sounded. He was just glad she was alive and relatively all right.

He chuckled at that. "The tee shirt is for my sanity," he told Eden as he pulled the curtain shut. "There's only so much temptation a man can resist." Not that he much felt like he'd be up for that sort of thing. She definitely wasn't.

Eden wasn't all too keen on assisting in the rinsing off as about all she could do was slowly turn and pray she didn't slip and crack her skull open. It wasn't a pleasant situation to be in. "Mm, as you should, sweet."

She arched an eyebrow when he closed the curtain but then of course, with the shower part on, he wouldn't want to get water all over the floor. "Mate, don't you know that covering it up makes it more desirable?" She chuckled tiredly, "And anyhow... I'd likely end up biting you and if it's all true..."

Sweet? Cathair hesitated, then shook his head and went to fetch one of his less ratty tee shirts he used to sleep in. He did indeed know that and he had to admit to himself the idea of her sleeping next to him in one of his shirts was rather appealing.

As for that last bit of nonsense. Cathair dropped the tee shirt on the counter and pushed the curtain halfway back, not caring if he or the floor got wet. "Eden, I don't bloody care," he told her. "There's no guarantee what they have in store for me or anyone else here is any better than what they've done to you. I'm not leaving you alone when you're nearly too weak to stand just because I might get hurt."

It wasn't just that. He wasn't just leaving her alone because of what they'd done to her. Cathair had never really had a true friend before, someone he didn't have to hide at least part of himself from. The rest was messy and complicated and likely stupid on bother their parts, but when it boiled down to it, he'd risk having his throat torn out to help her because she was his friend.

Quite a bit of the dirt and grime was finally gone when he opened the curtain again upon his return. She snorted a little when all he picked up on was her worry of him getting hurt. "I appreciate your help but that's not what I meant... If I really am... And I bite you. Doesn't that mean you'll become whatever I am? Isn't that how it works?"

She ran her hands through her hair and under the water. She wasn't bothering with any sort of shampoo, simply wanted to get basically clean and then get out. She was too damned tired to care. Whatever internal conflict they were both having, she was just too tired to care or focus or even pretend to think on it. It was too complicated and her brain was simply trying to compensate for the loud noises and the desire to eat him. In a bad way. How could she feel so hungry despite being so damned full?

And just thinking about it had her eyes narrowing but she shook it off with a gentle movement of her head. "I don't want that to happen..."

"I don't know," he admitted. And he really didn't care. "If it makes you feel better, I'll sleep on the settee and you can have the bed." Not that he was really that worried about her trying to kill him in his sleep.

"Here," he said as he helped her rinse out her hair at least. He'd have to change his sweatpants but that didn't matter. Grabbing a towel for her to wrap herself up in, he leaned down to turn off the tap.

He wrapped an arm around her to help her out of the shower, then wrapped her up in the towel. "Sit down whilst I dry you," he told her. "I don't want that to happen either. But I'll not just leave you alone." And right now, he doubted either her eating him in any way good or bad was going to happen. She was too exhausted to stand even.

Eden bit her bottom lip, eyebrows furrowing together. She cleared her throat a little then shook her head, "No... Stay. I." Cutting off, she took a moment then continued with a soft sigh, "I don't really want to be alone. I think you can understand." Who couldn't?

She leaned over further into the water when he offered to help, amazed that she managed to stay upright for it. When finished, she stepped back out of the water as much as she could, waiting for the water to be turned off before she tried to wrap the towel around herself. For some strange, reason she hadn't wanted to get it wet from the shower water. Because that made sense when she was putting it around her wet body. Only it wasn't quite working as her arms did not want to go in the direction that she wanted them too.

Thankfully that was when he helped her out of the shower and took over. She settled down on the edge of the tub, knees together, back curving her forward and shoulders hunched towards her ears in a sort of defensive position. What did she have to be defensive about? Well... Everything. "Good... I don't think I'd make it to tomorrow alone."

Good, he was hoping she'd say that. He'd rather take his chances with her than make her deal with this alone. None of them should be dealing with this alone.

He couldn't very well dry her all haunched over like that. "You're not alone, Eden," he told her. "Now sit up so I can dry you properly. Then I'm putting you to bed." He might not stay the whole time, but he hadn't gotten much restful sleep the night before and he'd be lying if curling up with her in his arms didn't sound like paradise right now.

He was very foolish then because God only knew what she was going to be like when she was well rested. Likely not as pleasant as she was being now...

Her eyes flicked to him and she gave him a rather bland and vaguely annoyed look, "You'd have a difficult time too if you felt like your body had been repeatedly ground up into a powder." Still, she carefully sat up, stretching out her back. Funny how she didn't really remember but was so damned close to being right.

Then he was a fool. He still wasn't leaving her alone.

"Then let me help you, so that I can get you to bed so you can rest," Cathair reminded Eden patiently. He wasn't going to go on about how much like rubbish he'd felt the day before and still did. Because their was no point. She hadn't meant to hurt him and trying to make her feel guilty about it was stupid.

He finished drying her and slipped the tee shirt over her head. "Can you walk or am I carrying you again?" It was a fair question.

No, she hadn't meant to hurt him... And to be perfectly honest, a concussion didn't really compare to having your bones literally grind and shift around repeatedly. But she wasn't going to argue about who was suffering more.

Eden simply let him dry her off then helped slip into the t-shirt, rubbing her face briskly with her hands then running her fingers through her hair like that would help. "Mm... Maybe just help me along," very carefully she stood up and it was rather clear that she was about two seconds from falling over. At least until she settled a hand on Cathair's shoulder.

Well no, he'd be the first to agree with her on that. While he still had a headache and some bruises, he didn't consider himself badly injured. Eden was exhausted beyond her limit. Which was why Cathair was helping her instead of leaving her to do things herself.

He rose and wrapped an arm around her waist, the other ready in front of her in case she stumbled. How weak she was worried him, if she hadn't come back to the village and to his door, who knew what would have happened to her out in the jungle. "We'll take it slowly," he agreed as he started towards the bed. Luckily it wasn't very far.
