Shadow Magnet
Who: Eden, OPEN
Where: Foresty area at first before heading into town.
When: Afternoon
Warning: Naked lady-ness? Raw meats!

The previous evening was a blur to Eden. If she thought rather hard, she could remember a lot of pain and the horrible sounds of bones and tissue tearing and shifting. It was a sound she'd heard before many times in many ways but it had never happened to her personally like that before. And then it had.

All she knew was that when she woke up she was alone and out in the forest, naked and smeared with dirt and other bits of foliage. Her ears seemed to have adjusted to the loudness of sounds around her and there was something new - her sense of smell was incredibly heightened. She could smell the local animals some of whom were watching her and she could smell the underlying scents of nature - live plants, rotting plants, animal byproducts - all of it.

And she could see the tiny details around her. Some of that increased eye sight led her to her own tracks which she followed while she was on all fours. They indicated stress of some kind - at least the human ones but as she went further away from them, they became less human and more feline but rather large. So Cathair was right. Her stomach growled loudly then and her head flicked to one side, looking through the trees.

A further turn of her head told her what direction town was in. She could hunt - she wanted to hunt. Nothing would give her greater pleasure than to stalk something down and rip its soft furry belly out but the human part of her said no no no and she fought the instinct. She headed through the trees quickly back towards town with only the thought of food on her mind. When she finally got into town, she went straight for the grocery store. Surely there would be something there that caught her interest...

Once inside, she slipped through the aisles surprisingly quiet to herself, feet not even reacting to the cold tile. She found herself in a little meat section and perched upon the raised display case. For a long while it seemed she simply gorged herself on the meat within the display leaving several bloody packages behind along with blood all over her hands, mouth and torso. Really, she couldn't help it - her mind was simply embracing the animal within her and running with it. It was a miracle she hadn't gone snacking on monkeys in the first place.

And recoil Coop did. He had not prepared himself for such a dirty move, and, as the pain coursed through his body, his hold on the wiley woman loosened. As he doubled over, he groaned out a much more colorful curse. "Fuck!" By happenchance, his most colorful curses remained distinctly Australian; he scarcely spoke the words, and because he rarely listened to the way others said them, they were still pronounced almost as though he had never left home. "Bloody hell, lady!"

He was beginning to think he was going to have to bring a net in here to capture her...before she hurt herself or anybody else.

Thank God for that. Eden scooted back quickly as he doubled over. Better. But she didn't get away from him entirely stopping once she was perfectly aligned... And when she was just in the right position, she swung her foot up towards his nose since it was so much closer to the ground now. The accent wasn't lost on her but right now it didn't matter.

Yeah, he was definitely going to need a net. She wasn't about to hurt herself but she was sure as Hell about to hurt him. A lot.

Coop had gone somewhat soft in his years of marriage, a feat owed more to the tragic result of a street fight than to the marriage itself. Fortunately, his wife's dream of opening a dive bar kept his skills relatively honed -- and instinct did the rest.

Through the corner of his eye, he noticed the incoming foot, and he turned his head, ever so slightly. The blow landed firmly against his cheek, and although he still felt his teeth rattle and still tasted the familiar coppery flavor of blood in his mouth, his nose had escaped the scrape in one piece.

This was quickly becoming ridiculous. He didn't want to hurt her -- but it was becoming increasingly clear that she was hell-bent on hurting him. Pushing the throbbing pain away (and this pain certainly wasn't from the kick to the face), his hand shot out to wrap around her ankle. It was a firm grip, but it wasn't enough to pull her down.

Most people would instinctively lash out with their other foot to free the first -- and if she did, he would take advantage of her loss of balance. And then she would come down -- and hopefully not skull-first into one of the shelves.

Lucky for him that he'd turned his head in time - not so lucky for her foot which was now aching a bit from the firmness of his cheek bone. She hadn't been trying to break that harder bone though so it wasn't hurting as bad as it could have been.

Eden yelped a little in surprise but the sound wasn't exactly human. The sound was a little more wild feline than anything else. She hadn't been expecting him to grab her ankle like that and her wild brain couldn't exactly translate what it meant though she'd figure it out later.

She did not lash out with her free foot. Instead she caught herself with one hand then lashed out with the other to claw at his ear and cheek. It was rather like she was trying to rip his face off with her bare hands but it was a hard reach what with leg and body inbetween.

Close enough.

In spite of her clawing hands and the scratches quickly appearing on Coop's face, he seized her wrists and pulled, hoping that her position had left her off-balance enough that the sharp tug would pull her off her feet.

OOC: I'll let you decide if this works at all before going on. <3

Oh yes, she was off her feet and onto her back. Her eyes went wide with that and instinct took over replacing skill and knowledge... Instinct was to flail wildly with all the strength she possessed which was likely considerably a bit more with the full moon awaiting her that evening. And the sounds that were coming out of her were entirely animal - not a single human word among them.
