Summary: Parker heads for her haven, the roof

First Dalton Rand over the network and now no gun.

Parker was not a happy thief as she took to her haven on the hotel rooftop.

Call it a sick feeling but given her life as a thief Parker had a feeling someone would think she was behind all the weapons and other things going missing. Even through her exchange with Jamie on the network has eased her fear somewhat it was still there. "Think I'll just stay put till the dust settles or we get our things back." she whispered under her breath. At the same time her healing rib was in pain, this time she was pretty sure it was from the sprint to the roof.

It was one thing when it was someone like Spike gently teasing her, that was fine since it would be something the team would do. But this time felt different and Parker knew it. She whispered,"This time they think we're the marks."

But all she could do was remind herself of one thing, being whispered over and over under her breath.

"They can't take being a thief away from me. They can't take being a thief away from me. They can't take being a thief away from me."

Parker finally looked up when she heard both voice and boots. "That's all I've got at the moment, knowing they can't take being a thief away from me. As for rooftops they just make sense, ironic since I usually have rapelling gear hidden for this sort of crisis." the younger woman weakly joked. But Sophie's lessons on being more at ease with people kicked in as she offered her hand,"Name's Parker, think we've spoke a couple of times during the ammo hunt? Your friend uses 9mm while your gun is WW2 vintage."

"Yeah... the Webley." He sat down beside her and shook the offered hand. "Captain Jack Harkness... nice to finally meet you."

Jack looked up for a moment, then smiled as he looked back to Parker. "I don't normally do much rappelling, but I spend a lot of time on the rooftops back home when I want to clear my head. Or sometimes just so I can be a bit closer to the stars."

"Nice to finally put a face to a name." Parker nodded. "Your gun has the least common ammo out there but then I love a challenge since last time I felt useful was the weapons heist." aka she basically revealed her dual life as a pro thief. She cracked a rare smile these days,"As a thief rappelling is a pretty decent chunk of any job, there's always something to duck from lasers to alarm systems. But its the same thing, roofs are like a haven for me."

	"Con man?" Parker cracked a smile. "Now we're speaking the same language! I'm with a team and well we go after the guys who screw over the little people. As my boss would say we provide leverage." she explained. 	"Sounds like a regular modern day Robin Hood and his merry men," Jack teased. He smiled over at Parker as she mentioned another member of her team. "I had a team of my own once. 	A tiny but pure smile escaped Parker, she loved the idea of being a Robin Hood of sorts. She asked,"Tell me about them? If its ok that I'm even asking this I mean." "There's not much to tell. Tosh was a computer genius... best I've ever met. Owen was a sarcastic prick, but he was an amazing doctor. Ianto..."

Jack paused, sitting up and looking downwards. "Ianto made the best damn coffee on the planet. And there was a lot more to him than people realized."

He glanced back up as a breeze ruffled his hair. "And Gwen's just brilliant. She's the heart of the team and the one who challenges me."

In return Parker filled in some blanks on her crew,"Alec Hardison: one of the best hackers in the world and one of the few who actually tries to understand me. Eliot Spencer: expert level fighter and team hitter but there is so much more to him that meets the eyes. Sophie Devereaux: one of the best grifters in the world but can't act to save her skin outside of a job, also the team mom. And last but not least Nathan Ford: mastermind and besides having a way with ideas just knows when to keep fighting."

She whispered,"Leverage in a nutshell and the only family I've really know."

"Sounds familiar. I don't have any family... not anymore, unless you count Gwen. Torchwood was my family and it's basically gone now. Sometimes I think it's best this way... being on my own and not getting attached to people. But then there's times when I know I'm just fooling myself," he admitted.

"We went through something really rough a while back. And because of it, I lost my lover, my grandson, and my daughter. I lost everyone and everything but one person. So to protect her, I left the planet. She has a husband and is pregnant with their first kid... well, back when I come from at any rate. It's different here. I figured it might be hard at first, but she'd be better off without me around."

Parker knew it may not be her place but she had to say something,"She needs you Jack, this place is like an emotional paper shredder and it makes me wish I had the team. Even just one person who actually gets me would be huge right about now. She needs someone to keep her emotionally grounded since if Torchwood is anything like Leverage its knowing your not alone that means the world."

Parker may not be the best with people but she has her moments.

"Some backstory is needed first: last year while Tara was acting as our fill in grifter we were going after a fake psychic." Parker explained. "As part of the re-con Nate and I went to a taping, just to see if there was anything we could see trick wise. But in the process I was cold read and it basically blasted open a secret nobody knew till then, that I feel resonable for my brother's death. Cue me sprinting back to the office and well we did bring Dalton Rand down but having that reading blasted over the network did not help things." as Parker told the story of that job.
