	I've learned to expect very little, truth be told. Humanity always finds a way to disappoint. But perhaps now that a huge swathe of us are going in someone will find a way to do something about it. I'm not going to hold my breath. That asshole Wilson who is SUPPOSED to be one of the jurors for my squad had no idea (or didn't care) that I was both in his squad and in the affected block and he was acting like I had no right to be upset about this because I didn't have a horse in this race. I don't know how any of these people got "elected", because unless you're directly related to/friends with them, it's like they don't care.

But fuck it. If making enemies gets them to move their asses into actually doing something, I'll do it.

I see that. And it's not unlike arguing with a fair few people I know either. And no, they don't care. That much has been painfully obvious in the past. All these attempts to bring unity among disparate groups have only caused more strife because so few people are willing to actually step beyond their groups and work with others. But, then, I imagine that's what the scientists want. I've seen leaders who keep their people underfoot and pliant using that exact method. More than once.

But, as you said, sometimes being a force - no matter what nature that force is - is all that it takes to make people move in a coordinated direction.

Maybe. I hate feeling helpless. There's no reason that Nat should be locked up and there's no reason we should be locked up too and that lack of reason is pissing me off. If I knew why, I think I would be better, but I don't and so I end up frustrated and angry.

You're being very polite. I would say he's an asshole. Even then, I'm willing to write it off as being a dad trying to protect his kid, and that'd be cool, but he's a disagreeable asshole even when she's not in danger- at least from the little of him I've seen. At some point you just have to chalk it up to that being the way he is. Maybe he has a million PHDs or whatever, but it doesn't mean I have to put up with him telling me to fuck off for no reason.

I know we'll get through this because we've been through worse. I'm just... I'm fucking tired, Matt. I'm really damned tired.

No, you're right. I don't think it's right to always have to be the one to have to give way because something you might say or do could potentially unleash some angry green ball of out of control destructive energy onto everyone in the vicinity. That's no different from walking on eggshells in any abusive relationship. You are not the keeper of anyone else's issues. But where you can agree to disagree and just walk away, it's worth trying however hard that is to do.

Just turn your tablet off and tune it all out while we still have some time. I'm on your side. And I'll keep you safe ~~if I can.~~

Exactly. And the way everyone around him tiptoes... It's intimidation. Like, I'm pretty sure it legally meets the requirements for intimidation. I would have been happy to leave it as it is, but assholes keep piling up and threatening Nat with treason. And that just doesn't sit right with me. I have no confidence in the Council at this point.
