WHAT: Astoria & Daphne stopped talking for awhile and Astoria is realizing she needs her sister around again.
RATING: PG. WARNING: Awkwardness.
STATUS: In progress.
If Astoria was going to be honest with herself, she was more nervous than she thought was humanly possible. Although she didn't have very many photo shoots that day, she was beginning to make a fool of herself. Not being the most graceful of the Greengrass sisters, she had been dropping the film to her camera and making clumsy mistakes the whole morning. In fact, people were starting to get frustrated with her. She apologised profusely, but it was no use: she was just such a klutz sometimes. It just wasn't easy to concentrate knowing that today she was going to see her older sister for the first time in months.
As cliché as it was, Narcissa Malfoy's funeral had made Astoria realise that she needed to mend things with Daphne, and she needed to do it fast. Purebloods seemed to be dropping like flies and while it was hard to think about, Astoria couldn't help but wonder who would be next. Would it be Clint, who made had a mistake but was still like an older brother all of her life? Perhaps her mother. Or perhaps it would be Daphne, her beautiful sister. She couldn't stand the thought of it. Pride was no matter to her in this situation, she knew that it was time to make amends.
Astoria wasn't even the type to stay angry for a long time, and as soon as she had left for France she was basically ready to talk to her sister again, but what was done was irreversible and she hadn't known how to go about saying she was sorry. She had enough of a problem as it was showing her true feelings, but it was time to make things right. In reality, the only family she really had was her sister. Her parents were pretty useless and Lyssy was gone now. She didn't even have Clint to confide in anymore.
The truth was, Astoria was just so disappointed in Daphne for going back to Clint after all he put her through. Hell, he put Astoria through it too. She lost Lyssy too, and it was the hardest thing she ever had to go through. She loved her sister so dearly and it hurt her to see her life get so screwed up. She was sure Daphne was happier now, and that maybe somehow there was a misunderstanding, something that Astoria hadn't known when she left. It hurt her to know that she didn't attend her sister's wedding, and she felt foolish for being so scared.
Packing up her camera, Astoria shoved the rest of her things in her bag and headed out the doors of Witch Weekly. It was a lovely day for October and if she weren't so nervous she may have noticed it. She walked quietly but rather hastily to the café Daphne and herself had agreed upon. The bright colored awnings seemed to sting her eyes, although she was used to camera flashes that came with working as a photographer. She sat down outside and told the waiter she would take a glass of water while she waited for her sister. She wasn't planning on eating anyhow, as she hadn't today at all. She hated confrontation and she hoped that Daphne wouldn't be too cross with her. At least if she was, Astoria would feel better that she tried.
She fidgeted, twirled her hair, and pulled at her clothes in anticipation. If someone were to be watching her, they would be able to sense her anxiety from a mile away. When the waiter brought her water, she picked it up and took a sip. It was hard to swallow with the big lump in her throat, but she managed to get it down. She closed her eyes for a moment and thought hard Please show up. Please show up. When she opened her eyes again, she saw a blonde walking up to the table. It had been months, but even from far away, she knew it was her sister.
