WHO: Rae and Regan
WHAT: Bringing medical supplies back to her place; Rae starts to show signs of fatigue.
WHEN: March 3rd, 2020 ;; afternoon
WHERE: The infirmary, and the walk back to Rae's place.
RATING: Maybe medium for language?
This had been the longest few weeks of Rae's life. She'd spent a majority of her time over the past week or so, not just taking care of EJ (which was a full time job on its own), but running back and forth between her cousin's room and Topher's room, as well as looking after Lucas as well. Somehow, Lucas managed to come down with some kind of mystery illness, and Rae tried to make sure that he was well taken care of, too. Honestly, over the past week and a half, Rae had gotten no more than five hours of sleep. But that was okay. She was sure, if roles were reversed, that any of the people who depended on her would do the same for her. I'll catch up on sleep when this is all over. It had become her mantra, and she'd been saying it to practically everyone who told her that she looked tired, and that she needed to sleep. Now, she couldn't even think of sleep. She had more things than she could carry, to bring back to her place, before she could even consider bringing April and Topher back to her room. It seemed like, when it came to taking care of people who were sick, it was one thing after another. Fortunately for Rae, she'd always had a talent for keeping track of things. Dates and times and organization had always sort of been her forte. But right now, before she could even think of organizing things, she needed to get everything back to her room. It'd be a heck of a job on her own. It'd be easier if I had some help. Never one too proud to ask for help with something as menial as this, Rae looked around. But there was no one nearby right now. Zach, Ty and Talia had gone back to business after giving her the rundown of what she needed to do, and that Dr. Samson was off checking on one of the other patients. Instead of asking anyone else, she grabbed the items, largest to smallest, and tried to balance them in her arms. But before she could even take a step, she dropped half of the small things that she balanced. |
