WHAT: A drunken run- in leads to awkward moments.
WHERE: A hallway near the cafeteria
WHEN: December 18th, 2019; Evening
RATING: Medium, maybe.
CHALLENGE: Booze
The hallways of Sing Sing were fairly empty tonight, something Zach was thankful for. Nobody needed to see one of their medics practically falling down drunk, although he had a feeling it wasn’t necessarily a secret that he was verging on being a functioning alcoholic most days. Today though, he had a damn good reason to be drinking. There had been a woman that had come into the infirmary that day and for a split second Zach had thought it was Sasha and even though it hadn’t been logical at all – because he knew Sasha was gone – he had thought that maybe she had survived. Of course that thought had only lasted for a moment before logic took over and he got a good look at the woman. Of course it hadn’t been Sasha, but that incident had had the domino effect on his guilt and like usual Zach had allowed himself to sink into thoughts of what he should have done, that maybe if he had watched out for his siblings better Sasha and Gordy would both still be here. These thoughts had led him to the Four Horsemen and a bottle of liquor; he had only stayed long enough to acquire booze before heading on his way. Now he was wandering through the halls of the compound. Sure, maybe a guard tower would have been a better spot to wallow, but Zach liked to be on the move when he was thinking. He couldn’t pinpoint where he was anymore and he had been stumbling so much that after about an hour of falling and picking himself back up he had just given up and sat down with his back against the wall and his legs outstretched, taking up space in one of the hallways. “Don’t mind me,” he slurred as he caught movement out of the corner of his eye, he had been staring forward at a spot on the opposite wall. “You can just step over me.” Zach’s movements were a little slowed as he made a waving motion like he was shooing the person along on their way. |
