A powerful Dark wizard known only as Lord Voldemort has been making a steady climb towards power, and with him, he brings his ideals: pureblood supremacy and extermination or suppression of muggles and muggleborns. To his followers, he promises power and glory beyond imagination; to his enemies, he promises death. The students inside Hogwarts castle have been, up to now, relatively sheltered from the events outside its walls. However, when they board the train to school, three of their number are missing. Three muggleborn students and their families have been killed by Lord Voldemort and his followers the night before they were to leave for school, and this triple massacre makes the conflict entirely too personal for many students. As with any war, lines are drawn. Families and close friends stand on either side, wrenched apart by their beliefs. Many students lie awake at night trying to decide where their loyalties lie, and just how to shift from the grey neutrality of school to the black and white of its outside world. School rivalries still ring true, pureblood supremecists still hold their ideals close, and muggleborn rights activists still fight for equality. Though we may not get along, like it or not, we're all still connected. Six Degrees has an incredibly active and diverse cast of characters, and our goal with the game is to explore the connections between them, especially the not so obvious ones. Rivalries may always exist, even long after Hogwarts is over, but without those House colors to define you, will you still so quickly judge those you meet? We have been around since mid-December 2010, and have been growing ever since! There aren't complicated game histories to catch up on, and no lengthy reading before you can even think of applying. Another year is about to start at Hogwarts, but outside the safety of the castle walls, a dark hour is falling upon the Wizarding world. Voldemort has been rising steadily in power, and has gathered enough forces around him now to launch a full-scale war upon the Wizarding community. His Death Eaters spring attacks left and right, focusing more often than not on those they consider to be “unworthy” of studying magic. Albus Dumbledore has been watching the gathering storm, and though no one suspects an uprising, he has a few tricks up his sleeve. There is a bright new generation of students about to leave Hogwarts, and Dumbledore has every intention to train them for what’s out there.
