[info]bethbethbeth: HP Beholder 2012 Fic & Art Master List - REVEALS

And here we have it, the 55 stories and works of art from this year's [info]hp_beholder exchange, now with names attached. Authors and Artist: you're at liberty to post your work wherever you want!

Once again, stories that were too long for a single IJ post were hosted on the HP Beholder Dreamwidth community. If anybody would like a Dreamwidth invite, email me at beholder.mod at gmail and let me know. Art, however, I still hosted on my own website, so Artists: please give me the new links for your art as soon as you re-upload, so that I can update the coding. And Authors: if you'd like me to add a preferred redirect for your stories, just let me know!

There's also a collection on the Archive of Our Own (AO3) for those of you who are interested in adding your hp_beholder fic. You can find the collection here: http://archiveofourown.org/collections/hp_beholder

If you'd like to add your stories to the collection but don't have an AO3 account, let me know and I'll arrange for an account invite.

(note: the AO3 is currently unable to host art, but...someday soon?)

I'd like to close with a few thanks…first to all the participants and watchers who offered to pinch hit, I'd also like to thank the authors who graciously agreed to behind-the-scenes re-assignments when the usual unavoidable difficulties arose.

And finally, for the fifth year, many thanks to all our wonderful participants (and their betas!) and all the folks who read stories and admired art and left feedback and made recs in their journals and who were so positive and supportive about the uncommon pairings that are at the heart of [info]hp_beholder.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, this year's HP Beholder is being dedicated to Leni Jess, a much-loved member of the HP Beholder community, whose unexpected passing this week has saddened us all. Rest peacefully, Leni.

I'd like to close with a few thanks…first to all the participants and watchers who offered to pinch hit (and especially to the wonderful [info]florahart who actually did write a pinch hit - and did a brilliant job of it). I'd also like to thank the authors who graciously agreed to behind-the-scenes re-assignments when…issues arose. :D

And for the fourth year, many thanks to all our wonderful participants and all the folks who read stories and admired art and left feedback and made recs in their journals and who were so positive and supportive about the uncommon pairings that are at the heart of [info]hp_beholder.

A few notes for the statistically inclined: ...here under the cut )

I'd like to close with a few thanks, first to the half dozen participants (and three watchers!) who volunteered to pinch hit. Your generous offers were much appreciated, even though for the second year in a row, not a single pinch hitter was needed! (woo-hoo!) There was a tiny bit of behind-the-scenes assignment re-shuffling when one participant had to withdraw, but due to the Beholder crowd's sheer coolness, that was an entirely stress-free process.

And for the third year, many thanks to all our wonderful participants and all the folks who read stories and admired art and left feedback and made recs in their journals and who were so positive and supportive about the uncommon pairings that are at the heart of [info]hp_beholder.

[info]bethbethbeth: HP Beholder Master List ... with Author and Artist names!

THE HP BEHOLDER 2009 MASTER LIST

And here we have it, all forty-five stories and works of art from this year's [info]hp_beholder exchange, now with names attached.

To all Artists and Authors: feel free to post your work where you like...and thank you so much for participating in this year's exchange (note: artists and authors of long stories that I'm currently hosting on my website - let me know when you re-post and I'll redirect the links)

A few thanks are in order, first to [info]femmequixotic who spent time on the look of the LJ mirror community using [info]tripperfunster's art, which you can see on the IJ community (the fact that you can't currently see anything but a standard style on LJ is attributable to some weird LJ bug that stripped the coding...and not in that good "stripped" way. *g*)

I also want to thank [info]psyfic, [info]tripperfunster, and [info]chiralove for their lovely offers to pinch hit, but do you know what? We ended up needing not a single pinch hitter in this exchange, which those of you who have ever helped to run an exchange know is practically unheard of.

And finally, I want to thank all the participants and all the folks who read stories and admired art and left feedback and made recs in their journals and who were so positive and supportive about the uncommon pairings that were the focus of [info]hp_beholder. It's people like you who make this kind of [niche] exchange a pleasure to mod.

[info]beholder_mod: The Art/Fic Master List (aka, the Great Reveal)

This inaugural year of the [info]hp_beholder exchange went far better than I could possibly have imagined. When I opened up the sign-up post, I was crossing my fingers that we'd get at least 15 or 16 participants, but we ended up with 55 wonderful new stories and works of art...and here they are, once again, in posting order:

I have special thanks for a number of people:

First, thanks go to [info]tripperfunster whose charming "Pajama Party" artwork graces the main page of [info]hp_beholder - and to [info]femmequixotic who took that artwork and incorporated it in the layout she adapted for this community.

Also, many thanks to all the fantastic people who offered their pinch hitting services, especially to the ones who were able to step into the breach when scheduling problems arose (thank you, thank you, thank you to [info]eeyore9990, [info]venturous, and [info]julian_black, plus [info]tripperfunster, once again, for...everything!) - and much appreciation to [info]xochiquetzl, [info]nimrod_9, and [info]atdelphi for their understanding when last minute changes had to be made.

But finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to all the talented artists and writers who created such wonderful art and fic - and to all the supportive members of this community - for giving love to those characters who, until now, never got enough loving.

"But what about me?" squeaked Filius Flitwick indignantly.
"And me!" moaned Myrtle. "I never get any fun."
"Unnatural! Blood traitors!" screamed Walburga Black. "May you all...oh...I mean, yes, and what about me? It's lonely behind this curtain."
"I have no idea what you're all complaining about," Severus Snape said. He glanced at the award he'd won for Most Appearances in Art and Fic, then buffed his long, slightly-dirty fingernails on his black robe. "It all seemed to be organized in a perfectly equitable fashion to me."
"Oh, shut up," grumbled Filius and Myrtle and Walburga in unison.
The Mod looked over at the few still-unpartnered characters and smiled hopefully. "Maybe next year?"
