The Art/Fic Master List (aka, the Great Reveal)
This inaugural year of the [info]hp_beholder exchange went far better than I could possibly have imagined. When I opened up the sign-up post, I was crossing my fingers that we'd get at least 15 or 16 participants, but we ended up with 55 wonderful new stories and works of art...and here they are, once again, in posting order:

NOTE: For the artists and for the authors whose works were long enough that I ended up hosting them on my website - please let me know when you've posted them on a site of your own and give me the new URL so I can update the coding. Merci!

I have special thanks for a number of people:

First, thanks go to [info]tripperfunster whose charming "Pajama Party" artwork graces the main page of [info]hp_beholder - and to [info]femmequixotic who took that artwork and incorporated it in the layout she adapted for this community.

Also, many thanks to all the fantastic people who offered their pinch hitting services, especially to the ones who were able to step into the breach when scheduling problems arose (thank you, thank you, thank you to [info]eeyore9990, [info]venturous, and [info]julian_black, plus [info]tripperfunster, once again, for...everything!) - and much appreciation to [info]xochiquetzl, [info]nimrod_9, and [info]atdelphi for their understanding when last minute changes had to be made.

But finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to all the talented artists and writers who created such wonderful art and fic - and to all the supportive members of this community - for giving love to those characters who, until now, never got enough loving.

***

"But what about me?" squeaked Filius Flitwick indignantly.
"And me!" moaned Myrtle. "I never get any fun."
"Unnatural! Blood traitors!" screamed Walburga Black. "May you all...oh...I mean, yes, and what about me? It's lonely behind this curtain."
"I have no idea what you're all complaining about," Severus Snape said. He glanced at the award he'd won for Most Appearances in Art and Fic, then buffed his long, slightly-dirty fingernails on his black robe. "It all seemed to be organized in a perfectly equitable fashion to me."
"Oh, shut up," grumbled Filius and Myrtle and Walburga in unison.
The Mod looked over at the few still-unpartnered characters and smiled hopefully. "Maybe next year?"

Yay for masterlist! - Thank you very much :-)

The fic and art that has been produced for this fest has been of such high quality across the board, I'm definitely looking forward to scouting-out other works from certain artists and authors.

Oh, and... *pets Filius*... I'm glad to hear that there are thoughts of repeating [info]hp_beholder next year :-)

Thanks for making this absolutely wonderful fest. It has been fun to write something so different from what one usually does. I truly hope you'll make this fest a tradition. I hope Filius and Myrtle and Walburga can convince you before next year. :)

Thank you so much for running this original - and wonderful - fest.

Now, since Walburga is so outspoken, what about her lovely brother Alphard?

*crosses fingers for next year*

Hooray! Thanks so much for all of this. It was a wonderful fest, and it produced so much in the way of high quality art and fiction! I haven't finished browsing yet, but I can't wait to keep reading--and now checking out new people, too.

This was a fabulous idea, and I really look forward to a second round next year. ~hopes~ I'm sure Flitwick and Myrtle and Walburga will have more opportunities to get lucky. *g*

This was a wonderful fest - thank you! :-) I really enjoyed writing Quirrell. I think Snape/Quirrell is my favorite slash pairing after Tom/Harry.

No love for Flitwick? That's too bad. I think Hagrid/Flitwick would make an interesting pair... hmm, I might just go ahead and write such a fic. ;-)

Hope to join again for next year!

Thank you so much for organizing this and all the work you put in to making this an awesome fest.

Someday soon I hope to have enough time to read through all the stories I haven't gotten to yet.

Filius, Myrtle and Walburga, hunh?

I wonder how they would fit together? When did Myrtle die? Is there any chance she and Walburga might have overlapped at Hogwarts? Might Filius have been there at the time too? Myrtle and Filius were both Ravenclaws and I'm guessing that Walburga was in Slytherin.

***
*runs off to check lexicon*
***

Walburga Black is listed as being born in 1925. It is likely she would have entered Hogwarts in 1936 and graduated in 1943.

Myrtle died in 1943. The lexicon doesn't list what year she was in at the time. I'm guessing maybe 5th.

There are no years listed for Flitwick's birth or attendance at Hogwarts. All we know is that he is "ancient" and that he has been teaching at Hogwarts since the 70's. It could be reasonably argued that his years at school could have overlapped with Walburga Black and Moaning Myrtle.

If one supposes that Walburga might have been inclined to mistreat those she saw as her inferiors (read, anyone not of the highest pure blood standing) and was likely as sadistic as others in her house (Tom Riddle was a year or two behind her) I could see her tormenting a younger student of another house, especially one so prone to victimization as Myrtle.

Perhaps Walburga Black is a prefect for Slytherin and develops a sadistic, dominating relationship with the vulnerable Myrtle, forcing her to sexually service the inner core of Slytherins. Filius, as a prefect for Ravenclaw, notices that something is wrong with Myrtle and tries to get her to open up to him about what is happening. She has been trained well by Walburga and knows that her mistress will punish her if she tells so she attempts to distract Filius from his questions by seducing him. Poor Filius is a virgin and even though he knows it is wrong, he cannot bring himself to stop the blowjob Myrtle all but forces on him. Afterwards, he is deeply shamed but seeks out the advice of the Head Girl, Minerva McGonagall because she is easier to talk to than the Head Boy, a Slytherin who is scornful and taunting (and in on the whole sex slave thing, even though Filius doesn't know that). Minerva agrees that they need to do something to help the troubled girl and they go looking for her. It takes a few hours to discover that Olive Hornby was the last person to see Myrtle. By the time they find her in the girls toilet, she is cold and dead. Myrtle's connection with Walburga and the other Slytherins is never brought to light.

***

I could see it happening that way.

Great fest; great turnout. It's really a struggle to get most people to work outside of their character comfort zone, but all of us proved we weren't afraid.

Maybe you could add even more characters for next time, like Binns, Vector, any of the house-elfs or goblins, etc.
