There were reasons for Eden disembarking in Gustavia. While she'd let anyone that felt the need lay claim to fault, she had her own motive --she still needed to get Rob and Susanna wedding gifts. Forever engulfed in her work, Eden didn't leave time for herself, a flaw she was aware of but not seeking to fix anytime soon. There was so much on her plate, and she'd be damned if everything didn't go perfectly. Besides, if she found something for herself along the way, all wasn't lost, right?
She was quite grateful that most of the shop workers knew English, or at least enough to assist her. Her own French was basic, her accent weak and heavily American due to non-use. Sure, she'd taken it through college but it hadn't accompanied her further. Translation applications on her phone only got her so far, and she hadn't thought of packing a phrasebook. The thought had crossed her mind to grab one just to have it, but she really didn't need another one gathering dust on her bookshelf or taking up room in her luggage.
She swung the bag a bit as she glanced in the shop windows. While she was happy to plan the wedding, she wasn't happy about the wedding. Ms. Eden Williams didn't approve of Susanna Wilson in the slightest. She didn't have any qualm with the redhead as a person, the green of envy snatched hold every time Susanna took hold of Rob's arm, giggled at something, or even looked at him. Ever too proud to admit it, and even more loyal to the York family to act on it, Eden would stand silently by as the bespectacled York said his vows. Hell, she was even holding back every cringe she felt when she heard Susanna call him Bobby.
If only T. Robert York knew.
Instead of heading back to the ship, where she'd resume her planning and pining, she decided to check out Maya's restaurant, and window shop on the way there.
