WHO: Eli, OPEN
WHAT: Eli stumbles upon the survivors left on the beach
WHEN: About 12-16 hours after they first land
WHERE: The beach
RATING: Low for now
STATUS: Incomplete.
They'd made out like bandits, he and the girl; she was pretty, in a strange, gothy sort of way, and Eli had no real loyalty to the guests she'd robbed from. Some loyalty to crew members--Max sprang to mind--but she'd promised him no harm would come to the people on the boat. Just a bit of a disable, leave them drifting a few days before help arrived, nothing major.
When he'd woken up alone in the sand, stranded, no boat in sight, Eli had let out a string of colorful swear words that would have made the ears burn of anyone around him, had anyone been around him. No one was, of course. The island was empty, which was why it had been chosen by Casper in the first place. Fucking bitch. He should have known. She'd abandoned that asshole Mike, of course she ditched him too.
After a judicious amount of swearing, sand-kicking, and generally useless activity, Eli had picked up his duffel and began exploring. He'd found a boat, labeled Survivor, and a radio...which didn't work, of course.
Further exploring had led to some rather more alarming discoveries, one of which was a dead man buried in the sand up to his neck, just his skull above the sand; Eli took the tent from that place, and then got away. Working into the middle of the island, he finally found a high vantage point at the top of a waterfall, which had clear fresh water and a few small fish.
It was from that vantage point, later, that he saw the lights of the Mare Crisium. And watched her tip. Watched the smoke billow out, watched the ship begin to sink.
"Oh, shit." The words were whispered; Eli packed up camp and headed back down, working his way to the beach. It took him hours to get out of the jungle, and then several more as he moved around the perimeter of the island, keeping his eyes peeled for survivors.
Just under sixteen hours after the survivors of the Mare Crisium arrived, Eli trekked up, tired and sweaty.
"Hello? Hey! Are you guys okay??
