Super Glee RPG [16 Aug 2011|09:56am]

Rules | Holds | Apply | Cast | Timeline
Lima, OH looks like any other small town in the middle of America. It's citizens are the epitome of normal, and nothing much ever happens. But things are not all as they appear in this small town, and things are far from normal. 60 years ago, during the height of the McCarthy-era, Lima was turned from a normal, all-American town into a holding area for people with...abilities. A statue was erected in the center of town that suppressed these powers, and over time people forgot they'd ever been different.

On July 4th, 2011, 60 years to the day the statue was erected, a freak lightning storm swept through town. The damage to Lima itself was minimal, but the statue was destroyed. For weeks, no one noticed anything was different, until one day...it was. No one quite knows who was the first, but by the time August began nearly every teenager in Lima was exhibiting odd...symptoms. Headaches, fevers, vomiting...people thought it was just a massive flu outbreak, but the truth was far more than that.

And then suddenly...the symptoms stopped. Almost as if they'd never been there to begin with. Things went back to normal, a new statue was put up in place of the old one, and life went on. But this statue wasn't like the old one, made of simple stone and plaster, and nature can only go so long before correcting itself.

For the players: As of game start, no one will have powers. They will develop slowly over the course of the game and at different rates for different characters. More information can be found in the powers post.

Game Starts August 20th!

Nertuark School of Witchcraft and Wizardry [16 Aug 2011|09:16pm]

PREMISE | RULES | CHARACTERS | APPLY | MORE INFO

Fear takes hold in Europe with the rise of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Murmurs of a Dark Lord and a boy who lived travel outward, whispered in foreign ears, but remain only that: whispers and stories. The old ties of the commonwealth hold little strength and the problems of Britain remain their own. The Magical communities of North America continue, unencumbered by the ideals of a few misguided souls and the madness of one.

Nestled in the Alaskan wilderness, lay Nertuark School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. Within the castle, both like and dislike it's European counterpart, walk the future of the magical community within North America. Each student free of the darkness festering across the ocean and eager to make a place for themselves in the world around them. Their studies touch subjects taught across the world, but intermingled amongst their own touch and interests.

Nertuark is an original character roleplay based in the world of Harry Potter. It is a chance to explore the lives of Witches and Wizards outside the war against Voldemort and is a chance to combine a new culture with a world we already love. All characters in game are original and have limited connection to the happenings of Hogwarts and it's students. The stories of war continue but they remain harmless and a means of conversation.

Game opens August 31st.

PREMISE RULES SUPERNATURALS CAST HOLDS
WANTED APPLICATION

Two days ago this was an empty lot, an abandoned field near the edge of town. Then the trucks rolled in, big semis huffing clouds of noxious fumes, and able-bodied men jumped out to set stakes in the ground, run string to mark off areas. The townspeople whispered excitedly as the posters and flyers arrived around town, posted on telephone poles and bulletin boards, stacks of them on the counters in shops.

The Dark Carnival was in town.

The tents aren't the brilliant red and white stripes of the carnivals of yesteryear; these are black and gray, burgundy and purple, dark jewel tones lit from within by lanterns and candles and black-lights. Torches burn at the entrance and a sign warns all who enter that they are lost. Here the carnies walk among the crowd dressed in leather jackets embroidered like a skeleton's infrastructure, weaving expertly between the marks and disappearing into the crowd so effortlessly you'd swear you'd seen a ghost. Barkers call to passersby, luring them in for the sights and sounds. Canvas banners ripple in the wind, which carries with it the scent of food cooking, the hot smell of machinery and oil.

There are cries of laughter and delighted squeals coming from the midway, the freak tent, the handful of thrill rides. People walk out of the psychic's tent looking a little uneasy, laughing it off as hokum even as their skin crawls. And some of those shrieks from the haunted house... well, they sound a little too sincere, don't they?

Of course, not all who enter will leave when the night is over.

This is the Dark Carnival.
