RP: Ron & Peter
Who: Ron & Peter
When: 11 April, after lunch
Where: Outside the Great Hall
What: Awkward conversation

Things were slowly getting back to normal, or at least as normal as they'd been before the castle fucked with their minds, but there was still a lot to deal with. Ron hadn't had to reach out to Jamie, as he'd let Hermione Obliviate him, but Ron knew that something fundamental had been damaged in any relationship he might have had with his nephew. He was going to have to figure out how to at least mitigate that damage, but he wasn't sure exactly how to go about it. It was something he was going to have to actually sit down and think about.

He also needed to track Duke down, take a look at the club and make sure the security was adequate. He trusted the castle to an extent, at least with regards to keeping anyone from unauthorized Apparation into the castle, but there were still precautions that needed to be put into place if the boathouse was going to be used as a club. So, that was on his list among a dozen other little things. Not as many as Hermione and Harry had on their lists, but enough to keep him and his little department busy.

Thinking about Duke brought up the other announcement that had been made. The memorial for Cassandra. It was something he'd given thought to while he'd had Peter's memories, but at the time he'd figured no one else cared and hadn't done anything about it. Now, he wondered if he should have but maybe it was for the best that he hadn't. This way, they could all pay their respects to her as themselves, and not as someone else.

And speaking of Peter...Ron had been avoiding him to an extent since they'd regained their memories. Not necessarily on purpose, but not not-on purpose either. That couldn't go on forever, so when he spotted the other man leaving the Great Hall on his own, he decided to catch up to him.

"Hey, Peter. Mind some company for a bit?"

"That's one way of dealing with things, although you're basically in charge of everything, it might not work out too well." Peter frowned but apparently the man was serious. "I- thank you, but I don't usually drink right after lunch. I'd like to be somewhat coherent if James writes back."

He shook his head. "God, don't say that. It assumes that we'll be here forever. Hopefully if we get enough people, the castle will let us move, even if only to Hogsmeade. Have real homes and shops. We do need an economy at some point if we want to have an impact on an international scale."

Peter snorted. "It seems to go like that, and that's why we do have a little department to think of these things and not let it get lost when stuff happens." He nodded. "But then the house-elves have to know figure out if that person is a danger. The good thing is that they can Apparate. "All right so let me know."

Since Ron didn't want to admit that he sometimes forgot he was in charge of people, he just shrugged. "Guess I should work on that then," he said, wondering at the frown but ignoring that too. "It's Sunday. Drinks after lunch on Sunday are normal, but I get why. Being coherent is probably for the best." If one drink would make someone incoherent, it was probably better they didn't drink anyway.

Ron nodded in agreement. "I didn't want to jinx anything, but hopefully that's where we're headed." He'd like to have a home with Hermione, even if he was unsure about more children. That was another thing that was better not to think about too much.

"You're not wrong." He didn't like the idea of a full-fledged Department of Mysteries, not yet, but he definitely needed to talk to Harry and Hermione about at least a version of it. "Exactly, and I will. I'll let you go now. Good luck with James."
