She had arrived! It was immediately apparent by the flutter of activity, and the talk of the alabaster skin and the lack of speech. Isis quickly sent Fatima out to seat the young queen, who was likely feeling out of her element. Fatima had been taught a few words of the Norse tongue by Isis herself, so such instruction could be handled properly. For herself, she had learned enough to make this a pleasant enough occasion.
Once Fatima returned, everyone quickly fell in line. With a last quick look at her appearance and a nod, the parade made its entrance. First was Fatima, and behind her were two servants, carrying finely made objects. A musician with a lyre followed, softly playing. The queen herself was next, followed by several servants with refreshments. As she entered, Fatima made the announcemet. "Aset, Lady of the Two Lands and Mother to Pharaoh." Inwardly, Isis cringed. Perhaps this was a bit much, yet Frigg was a foreign dignitary, and there were protocols to follow. This was her home and her land, after all. At least she'd convinced the servants that the dancers were quite unnecessary. It wasn't as if this was Zeus at her door.
As she entered, Isis' eyes naturally fell to the young stranger. Pretty. Clearly nervous. And something in her eyes that spoke of deeper knowledge. Perhaps Odin had chosen well, but Isis knew better than to judge on first appearance.
"Queen Frigg, I am Isis and I am honored by your presence." Isis bowed her head slightly, then gracefully swept a hand toward the first two servants that had entered. "Gifts, for the Queen of the North." They were simple enough gifts, appropriate for a world far different from hers. An ornate chest, which could be used for jewelry or other trinkets, fruits and nuts not to be found in the Norse realm, and fabrics that should Frigg choose to return at another time, would be more comfortable than the attire of the colder climate she was used to.
Taking a seat across from Frigg, Isis awaited her own introduction.
