Oh dammit. He had to go and say all that stuff about honesty, and how she deserved it, and hadn't given him reason to lie. When all night, she'd been lying to him. Or at least, lying by omission.
This was going to ruin everything. But she had to tell him.
"Thor is an ass. But not for the reasons you think," she said. Sighing, she looked out the window. "It was Frigg's idea, actually. The whole thing was, sort of. You were ignoring me, and I'd tried everything I could think of, so... I asked for some advice. Without telling her who's attention I was trying to get. And that's how I ended up in your bedroom that night. Really, that should have taught me not to listen to her ideas on relationships. But she came to Mother's to find me, and asked me what happened. And obviously I couldn't tell her the whole truth, but somehow, she convinced me that you were interested. And then there was a whole speech about how this is all a game, and there are rules, though honestly, if it is a game, I don't want to play it. It seems really manipulative and dishonest and I don't like it. But she talked me into this idea of making you jealous, and talked Thor into using Magni, and there's nothing to it, not really. I mean, I think Magni might want there to be, but there isn't. Not for me. I told you, there's only one person I want, and it's certainly not the son of Thor."
Sigyn couldn't even look at him. Hearing the entire thing aloud, it sounded even stupider than it felt, and she was rather ashamed of herself. "Thank you for your honesty, Loki. But I don't deserve it as much as you think. I wasn't honest with you. I'm sorry."
Then, on further reflection, she frowned slightly and asked, "What do you mean he was egging you on?"
