The voice momentarily startled Hel, if only because a few moments ago she knew she was alone. She would have sworn it as she had entered the dark realm. Dark, in terms not of absence of light, but rather of most of the energies that dwelt there. Dark should have meant comfort to Hel, but even in her own Underworld that wasn't entirely true. Hel was dark, but she was also light, death but also life. In her self-absorbed view of things, there was no place for the likes of her. She was unique and alone.
Turning, she recognized the daughter of Nyx and Erebos. "Oh, Styx! Hello." Styx was soaking wet- why was she wet? Had she been swimming in the river...oh, the river. Nyx had done her best to explain her children to Hel, but the concept was still a bit bewildering. But if she understood correctly, that river, that wet, dripping off of Styx was best to avoid.
"I know." Hel gave a small laugh as she began to step away from the dog and closer to Styx, though not too close. "Hades called the middle one a wild card once, and I've noticed that his mood is a little harder to judge." Her own Hel-hound had only one head, and despite his massive size and fearsome looks, he really was a pushover. She suspected it was hard for him to stay all fierce and alert when no one ever came to threaten her realm to begin with. It was like anyone wanted to vacation there, and no one wanted to see Hel unless they had to. She would love to see what Garm would do with one of those perfect goddesses from her former home. Maybe she could teach him some attack commands, just in case that actually transpired. She'd love to see his massive jaws clamped around Frigg or Freyja. Or Sigyn, her mind added of its own accord. Hel tried to tell herself that it was an unfair and unkind thought, Sigyn had suffered too, but it continued to linger.
"I was just coming to visit Hades, but he isn't expecting me. Do you know if he's around?"
