If this was how things were going to be, Aset definitely had her work cut out for her. Though she had anticipated some difficulty, she really hadn't expected the first hurdle within minutes of convincing Bast to see her home. Now what?
She didn't want to admonish the children. Scolding Bast might make her run, and chiding Anpu would look like she was taking sides. Both children were involved, and therefore both had to be treated equally.
"Alright, I think that's enough of that. It's a lovely afternoon. Don't you think it would be better spent playing and having treats than fighting?" The treats bit was for Bast's benefit. Anpu and Heru were allowed occasional treats, and she had no doubt Fatima occasionally slipped them a few extras without the Queen's knowledge.
