Taken to Counsel {pre-Persephone's abduction} [tag: Hades]
It wasn't like Hades to call on Zeus for anything.
It wasn't unexpected for Zeus -being King of the heavens... of Olympus, considered himself a fair and just king, as well as one whose accomplishments warranted the occasional request for advice. But even given his accomplishments, it still wasn't like his older brother to call on him. Zeus didn't have the sort of relationship with Hades that Hera did. Which was something he just brushed off as having not experienced what they did by not having been in the belly of the beast -the beast being their father, and therefore not bonded together the same way that Hera, Demeter, Hestia, Poseidon and Hades were.
He loved his siblings, though, and that was something that should have been taken into consideration more often. If he didn't, he would have long since told his brother exactly what he thought of the kingdom of the Underworld and the residents within. Hades was far too... lax with his people. This was how things went awry. If given the opportunity, Zeus would have loved to give ruling advice to his brother on how those miscreant descendants of Erebos and Nxy should be handled.
Which, while he would have loved to give such advice, wasn't the reason his presence was requested in the mortal realm. Zeus waited as patiently as he could in the marketplace of Corinth, gazing at the statue triad before him. It was a suitable place to meet. Would be even more suitable if Poseidon were going to be present as well. One statue was marked Pelagaios and was clearly a representation of Poseidon. Then was a statue marked Khthonios, equally as clear a representation of Hades. Then finally, Zeus rested his pleased gaze on the one marked Hypsistos. He. Most high.
He would never forget the day when his lot drawn won him the heavens and he was quite sure his brothers never would either. Even though they had fought together in the Titanomachy, they saw each other rarely now. Shame, they were family.
But his brother called out to him now, and they chose a neutral place to meet. Which was only fair since the earth was shared between them.
Scratching at his chin, Zeus chuckled. “They never quite get my chin right,” he remarked to no one in particular. And for some reason, he was generally sculpted with a long beard. “Though maybe if they filed some of those curls off my beard they'd get it right.” He laughed again. Rarely did he wear his beard long.
