Makaria, in Zeus' opinion, was a little to eager to discuss death. Sure, it may be where her skill set lay, but to be so... joyful in discussing it was a little unnerving. Yes, she definitely needed time away from the Underworld. Preferably in the company of her mother. Some way of at least showing the girl what she was missing in life by being so entranced with death.
He nodded, though, in faux understanding. Getting her upset would solve nothing and probably paint him ass some sort of intolerant tyrant and Zeus really preferred his niece and... Creation help him, his granddaughter also, wasn't it... not think of him in negative light. Besides, if he was polite, charming and understanding and she went to tell her father wouldn't that put a stick in Hades' craw?
There was a certain appeal to that.
“It's a good thing to like what you do and to be good at it, which I'm sure you are.” Then Zeus gave her the most charming smile he could without trying to actively seduce her and said, “You know, you should talk to your mother about bringing you to Olympus for a visit. We would be delighted to have you.” Lies. Hera would not be pleased, he was sure. Makaria was an Underworlder by definition now, but she was still family.
“I'm sure Demeter would be thrilled.” Again, probably not. She wasn't exactly fond of the situation involving her daughter's time in the Underworld or her marriage to Hades. She wasn't likely going to be fond of the product of that union.
It was worth a try, though. Then maybe she'd go back to Hades and tell him about how wonderful Olympus was.
