I really enjoyed the magic/fantasy of this. And I love the idea of Harry (and Luna and Dean) living on a boat.

Although your summary sounded kind of cracky (Harry bonding with a tree branch?) it did intrigue me enough to click on this fic, even though I don’t much like fanon!Draco. (The fact that you borrowed a title from the late, great Arthur C. Clarke didn’t hurt either). This was maybe not truly to my taste but a very original and intriguing fic nonetheless. The mythology of the green man is an interesting topic, and it was cool to see Harry depicted as a wand-maker (or indeed, as anything other than an Auror).

Ollivander's only response to Harry's spluttering outrage was to suggest that the branch might subject itself to being "spruced up a bit."
Heh heh. I love puns like this.

"Usually—of people who have died or will die shortly," Malfoy conceded, "but I am made of awesome, so I am the exception to the rule."

best. line. ever.

i'm rather pumped about the ending. letting draco prove his worth [since harry knocked himself out with all that power] and hermione pulling everyone in to make sure it all went okay for the most part. wonderful, just wonderful!

I loved Harry as a wandmaker, and his continued insistence that he hadn't bonded to a magical creature. Until he couldn't deny it any longer. I did wonder how the bond happened. Although part of me assumed that it was related to Harry's acceptance of the branch wand, which came from Draco's tree.

I also very much liked the fantastical elements of this story and the way that Harry and Draco became attached to each other. And that the branch wand was a gift from Draco.
