Enter another Weasley!
Who: Charlie Weasley and greeter
Where: #12 Grimmauld and the Hotel lobby
When: just after Bill's disappearance
Rating/status: tbd/incomplete
Charlie Weasley had had to come home for the War Against Megalomanical Oppression, aka fighting off Lord Voldemort. To do otherwise had never crossed his mind, it would have been unconscionable. His family was in possible danger, and they needed him. They were all too obviously on the opposite side from the Dark Lord and his insane adherents, and possible targets for his enmity. So he had explained the situation to his boss, and taken a leave of absence from his job. Although he would miss working with the dragons, he had to do what he had to do, he couldn't do any less.
He wrote to his parents, and he wrote to his brother Bill - the one he idolized and wished to emulate. And he wrote to his best friend, Dora Tonks. He didn't wait for any replies, why waste the time, he just headed for home as quickly as possible, arriving at the Burrow as soon as he could.
Molly was overjoyed to see him, of course, as was Arthur. And the rest of the clan. But she had disturbing news. Dora was missing, and so was Bill, which effectively brought the joy of Charlie's homecoming to a screeching halt. Charlie was devastated. And then, after Ron too had disappeared, as well as the twins, on top of the other disappearances, he didn't know what to think. This was just plain out and out crazy, he thought, as late one night he got out his broom to have a good fly.
He wasn't sure where he intended to fly to, he just wanted to think, to clear his head, to try to make sense of everything. The air was cooler up here, its very coolness making him feel alive, as opposed to the stuffiness which was to be found at ground level sometimes. Had Voldemort begun a mass kidnapping of wizards, he wondered? They all were connected with the Order somehow, weren't they? Of course he was unaware of even more disappearances, such as the entire Malfoy clan, and Severus Snape. Or he would have been even more confused.
A strong wind began to blow, and he had to fight to keep the broom from veering too much. Dropping his altitude, he saw a flash of lightning in the distance. Best ground himself now, just in case, he thought sensibly, not wishing to worry his mum. Just then he spotted something on the ground, he couldn't be sure what, but it seemed like something shimmering. He flew down, dismounted from his broom, and began to walk toward the anomaly. Nothing looked out of place, and yet the very air seemed alive somehow.
He kept walking toward it, and suddenly the world had changed, he was now standing in the middle of a strange room - an elegant one at that - holding his broom and feeling more than a little confused. Where was he, and at what point should he begin to get worried?
