Who: Lesley Toddington and Terry Boot
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Around the school grounds
Summary: It's one of the only times she can do detention with Filch, on a Sunday. Unnghhh.
Rating: TBD
It was freezing. The storm that had passed the night before had left unbearably cold and humid conditions behind in its wake. Naturally, today was the day Lesley had to serve one of her detentions, and Filch didn't care one bit that she was a petite girl and that she could easily catch a cold from this ridiculous weather. The path leading up to the castle was piled high with snow, and it was Lesley's job to shovel as much of it off. Yes. With an actual shovel.
It didn't matter how much she was wearing to protect herself from the cold. Somehow, it had managed to seep right through and attach itself to her very skin, refusing to let her go. Even as she worked hard and felt sweat trickling down her face, it did nothing to warm her up. In fact, she couldn't stop shivering no matter what she did. But Lesley didn't complain. Even if next week she was burning up with fever, she was determined to finish out her detentions without so much as a single peep. She had deserved them and everything that came with them, and she was going to take responsibility for her actions even if it killed her.
She was none the wiser about her surroundings, being far too concentrated on not freezing to death while shoveling out a decent path leading up the school. She didn't know if this detention was specifically designed for her since her Prefect schedule was difficult to work around or if there was someone serving with her. It would be rare for anyone else to even be out in this type of weather either, no one at all to keep her company as she slaved away. And she wasn't hoping to see anyone either. She couldn't. She refused to give herself any kind of hope, because she feared that heartache would soon follow. And heartache mixed with cold weather was never a very good combination.
