Terry truly didn't mind being out in the cold, freezing down to his toes no matter how much layers of clothing he had on or socks he stuffed his feet in (it was just 2 pairs, actually). He would happily freeze and turn into a block of ice if it meant helping Lesley and saving her from a cold and sore back hours later; he'd take that pain on for her. That's just really how Terry rolled for his friends; he'd do anything for them, and would drop whatever he was doing to give a helping hand.
"But a cold wouldn't be one of them. I'm too strong for that." He said with a laugh, stumbling a little bit backwards in exaggeration to her light poking. "A warning is more than enough. But let's just put it this way. If I get sick, you're free to say 'I told you so' and take care of me if you want. If I don't, well.. then we both win? Or you can refer to me as Superman for the rest of the month." He waggled his eyebrows at her.
Terry continued with his shoveling after trying to convince Lesley that some snow and chilly weather wasn't going to stop him from helping her. "I don't think detention was supposed to be fun anyway, unless you count bothering Sophie Roper to death." That was so far the only highlight of spending most of his nights doing Filch's bidding. Even though they usually did their tasks separately, if by any chance Terry would be paired with Sophie, he never failed in saying some smartass comments towards her way.
He would have done the same just to have Lesley crack a smile at their topic of conversation right now. It was his fault for bringing it up, and he figured he might have caused her day out in the snow to be more terrible than it should have been. Terry should really learn how to stuck his foot in his mouth sometimes. "I'd hate to bash him in front of you, Lee, but I really think he's being a wanker in this. He just lost a great girl and doesn't even care enough to save the friendship. I mean, who needs a guy like that? Certainly not you. If there's anybody stupid in this situation, it's him."
At this point, Terry was frowning and near to the point of fuming that his shoveling was becoming more rash and hasty, throwing snow to the side like a madman. Nobody deserved to be treated like that, especially Lesley. "I can try and knock some sense into him, if you'd like. Maybe throw a hex or two. Just a tiny one."
