Teagan felt frustrated. She had only came here - ventured into the dreaded PAM stomping ground that she avoided by the plague - to see if Evan knew anything about John. He wasn't talking to her. He wasn't seeing her. She knew she should let it go and move on, but she couldn't. She loved John. Maybe she wasn't in love with John, but she loved and cared deeply for the arrogant, teasing, sexy, funny jackass. And while she never deluded herself to think he was in love with her, she had believed to her core that he loved her in return in the same platonic, sexually driven way. He had shown her now and then when they had those small moments of sweetness. For months, she had convinced herself and now she wasn't so sure. It hurt not to be sure. It hurt that he wasn't talking to her or answering her calls or anything else. It really hurt and she didn't want to admit it.
It had been two full moons since she'd last spoken to him. She wasn't sure if it mattered to him, but it had mattered to her. He had said he wanted her to come over after the full moons and then he just stopped talking to her. What if something happened to him? What if he wasn't okay? What if? Would she even know? She doubted it. There was a strange part of her that wondered jealously if he had found some other girl - some girl that put out, or that at least that didn't tease him like crazy without following through. But even when that jealous, embarrassing thought intruded, she was still more concerned for his health and safety than anything else. She would get over it if he was okay and just found some other girl, but she wasn't sure what to do if she found out something had happened to him.
So she had swallowed her proud and discomfort and talked to Evan. It had been a waste of time. He had laughed at her. He had led on that he knew something, but she had no idea what. There was just something he wasn't telling her. Feeling angry, worried, and frustrated, she just stormed away from him as he laughed behind her, finding it all some sick joke. Who thought worrying about their friend was funny? It was so wrong. Evan was just a horrible person. He had no soul or heart. It was clear. She couldn't even tell if what he was laughing at or if it meant that he was finding it humorless that something might have happened to John. It would be worse if Evan knew something bad had happened to him and he laughed at knowing.
She wasn't hanging around, though. She wasn't staying just to hear his laughter echo behind her, making her feel worse.
