Teagan almost felt bad for how the anger she had shown, but she couldn't help it. She still felt angry even at his words. It was worse actually. That's what Evan was laughing about! That's what Evan knew! John was probably perfectly fine and they were both laughing at her. At least they had something in common finally.
She shook her head. Trying to reign in her voice, she took a deep breath and said, "You have nothing to be sorry about. Thanks for telling me." She didn't even bother to say anything else when she turned away and headed down the sidewalk. She was dying to tell John exactly what she thought of them making a deal about her. She was not some pawn in their little game! It wasn't until she turned the corner that she realized she hadn't even said goodbye to Sam. "Damn it," she muttered, but didn't turn around. She'd just have to call him later on and tell him she was sorry for being rude.
