	Listen, no one's making you get a date or shaming you for not having one. But don't trivialize the feelings of people who do want one by questioning the importance of it. The Winter Formal is a big deal! You don't have to think it is for that to be true. Getting a date or going stag are both equally valid options. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Yep! It's a hobby and a passion of mine. I used to want to study Sociology in school when I was a kid and found out what that was. I think you should go. It's actually a lot of fun, whether you have/want a date or not. Something interesting always happens at the dance, and you don't want to shut yourself away from new experiences. 	We're a lot more laid-back. There's a lot of rushing towards something that everyone here seems to have. We also don't have a strict mindset against mingling with muggles or hiding magic. I don't know. It's just different on the island. What is there to teach? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Oh, no. I think you read that wrong. We don't have anything against mingling or any real care to hide our magic because it's the way of the island. I've just heard about places in Europe being completely obsessed with definitions and separation. That's just sad to me. Ah. I really don't need to be taught anything. It's okay. 	It's a large chunk of our life. I don't think it's largely unimportant what we do here, but school dances seem like people expect a lot more pressure than I would think goes into a dance. Formal things are less what I'm use to as much as I like dancing. (Reply to this) (Parent)
