Listen, no one's making you get a date or shaming you for not having one. But don't trivialize the feelings of people who do want one by questioning the importance of it. The Winter Formal is a big deal! You don't have to think it is for that to be true. Getting a date or going stag are both equally valid options.

My cousin says it would be more fun because you constantly have a dance partner. I still don't know how I feel about the idea of formal wear and dates in general. Though I don't mind dancing partners.
