yes i made a character journal for no reason even though we're moving. i had ambitions of tagging tonight. :'( BUT HELLO ALL it's Marin finally joining the 5 character train with Iliya Krum, Ebonhide junior boy. He's iliya over on dw and you can snoop him HERE.

• Son of Viktor Krum, who just got out of retirement so he can play in the 2014 Quidditch World Cup this summer. Iliya's mother is English, and he was born and (mostly) raised in Yorkshire.


• He attended Durmstrang from Years 1-3 and Hogwarts from Years 4-5. (Gryffindor!) Durmstrang suuucked, Hogwarts was a little better, and this is his first year at Gooseberry. He likes it so far except for all of the forest monsters.


• For his first two weeks of junior year, he pretended he wasn't fluent in English so people would leave him alone. He's still really embarrassed about it, but he tends to make stupid decisions like this when he's panicking about how to act in a new social situation.


• Comes off as really brusque and unfriendly most of the time. Hates talking to people but also hates being alone. Secretly has a lot of social anxiety and self-esteem issues which make him flee interaction with strangers by being rude to them. It's not you, it's him. He keeps hitting up all those Grotto parties anyway. He's trying to learn how to be fun by osmosis.


• Drawn to very confident and/or showy personalities. He's kind of a doormat/sponge who's incredibly easy to boss around and finds strength in being around people who are a lot more braver and charismatic than he is. If you're loud and obnoxious, he probably likes you a lot more than he lets on.


• His best friend at this school is Mackenzie Prince. This was an accident of circumstance, as they don't have a whole lot in common (Iliya is definitely not part of the Mean Girls clique), but he's very fond of her even though she keeps forcing him to be social. If Kenzie is fond of you, Iliya will likely have a positive opinion of you even if you're like... an objectively awful person. And if you're ever too pushy with Iliya, Kenzie may stomp you. :(


• He's mediocre-to-average at everything except playing the cello. Gooseberry's music program was the reason he came to the school, and spends a lot of time lurking in the music room and sawing through his bow strings, so he'd be familiar with the other musicians in the school!

OKAY SO i know this is not an easy character to befriend, so please don't feel obligated to give me all your characters. i'd love a few friends (musicians or ebonhides???), and several people he keeps being pointlessly rude to because he doesn't know how to talk to you :(, and maybe history with people he went to Hogwarts with??? this is so incoherent im not awake
