MEME: Veritaserum

VERITASERUM:
Oh no! Your character has been dosed with Veritaserum, and they're compelled to be completely honest in response to anything said to them.

Post a comment with your character's name in the header, and then other characters can come ask them questions, or maybe just engage in some awkwardly truthful chats.

Have fun!

It's less fun to experience than to watch. Stoker is a sore loser who can't admit defeat.

I'm sore? Didn't have to hex me after you'd already disarmed me, you weaselly fuck. You got what was coming.

I don't feel bad. You deserved it after everything you've done to me. The only unfortunate thing about you being kicked out of duelling is that I can't hex you again.

Don't count your chickens, Evercreep. Plenty of opportunity for me to get you outside of clubs.

Even with your precious captain status on the line? Didn't know you cared so much about me.

Stay out of my fuckin way this year and I won't have to give a single fuck about you.

I think I want to get a punch like that. Just to see how it feels when it happens, and how my instincts make me react, and what I do as a counteraction. Magical force and brute physical force are very different, and how am I to understand the complexities of it if I have never experienced it?

First off, I don't want anyone to punch you.

Secondly... It's very different from just taking a hex or a jinx. On the surface, it's less complex. It's just pain and concussive force. But every time it happens, it's shocking, and I can't react quickly enough. It's not like a wand duel at all. I suppose this is why muggles have all sorts of techniques for getting better at punching and taking punches.

I doubt anyone would want to punch me. It's quite a shame being so small.

But that's so fascinating! I believe if I understood it and experienced it I could very well create a spell that recreated the same effects in the victim, but for now the intent is not there. Perhaps when I am older. You can only watch so many muggle boxing matches.

It also that you don't do anything worthy of being punched.

It seems a little brutal. Why would you want a spell to bloody someone's nose? Those boxing matches are savage, nearly any hex or jinx can do a better, quicker, and less violent job.

I know, it's unfortunate. Perhaps someone else will mentally break down this year in dueling.

Well not necessarily bloody the nose, but just as you said, that very instinctive and base and natural physiological reaction of the body to being physically struck. That is true, but there is something primal and fascinating about watching simply muscle and bone being pushed to their limits that not even dueling can provide.
