MEME: Veritaserum

VERITASERUM:
Oh no! Your character has been dosed with Veritaserum, and they're compelled to be completely honest in response to anything said to them.

Post a comment with your character's name in the header, and then other characters can come ask them questions, or maybe just engage in some awkwardly truthful chats.

Have fun!

That's romantic. There's no actual father in my home situation, so I'm not an expert on how that specific familial makeup works. Either way, I'm pretty sure none of the women in my family want the responsibility of guiding me towards gentlemanhood.

That's very sad. But my daddy's father died in the first war, and he turned out to be the very best man that ever was, really. And if your family won't, then that's what marriage is for.

Oh, don't worry about me, it's not so sad. I have three mothers to make up for it, which is really way more mothers than any one person needs. As for marriage... well, I'll see.

What do you think it means to be a gentleman, though?

Well they do say behind every strong man is a powerful woman, or women in this case. Mothers are so important and you are very fortunate.

I'd say it's selflessness, sacrifice, casting off selfishness, living their lives for others as well. Being chivalrous, even if our ideas of chivalry in modern times are very far removed from the truth, I would imagine. Life was much more brutal so long ago.

I am. I love my moms.

I think I understand what you're saying. I feel like all of those things are something you just have to keep working towards. I mean, besides the actual swords and coping with feudal society and dealing with how my lady is dying of plague but our love will transcend tuberculosis.

And women had hardly any power of their own, not like we have today. I believe it over-romanticized the idea that a woman needed a man to be strong for her, when that's hardly the truth.
