MEME: Veritaserum

VERITASERUM:
Oh no! Your character has been dosed with Veritaserum, and they're compelled to be completely honest in response to anything said to them.

Post a comment with your character's name in the header, and then other characters can come ask them questions, or maybe just engage in some awkwardly truthful chats.

Have fun!

No. But it's better than going back to Hogwarts.

Do you not like Hogwarts? I read once that it's one of the oldest active wizarding schools in the world. It must be very different from Gooseberry.

Hogwarts itself was fine. The castle is beautiful, I suppose, but you get used to it after a while. Although when I first arrived, it was so much like the castles from novels that I loved to read, I was awestruck. But I was eleven and my standards were still low, so everything impressed me.

I have to confess I'd still be impressed. This country doesn't have many giant ancient castles, and I can't help but imagine it's romantic to live in one.

Was it really so bad? Could you see yourself going back if things don't work out this year?

It's cold and the stairs are incredibly inconvenient, always sliding around. But... it was romantic sometimes. Although I was in the dungeons, so it's not as though I could look out a window to see the misty mornings.

If I end up going back it'll be admitting I wasn't good enough.

That's a different kind of romantic, for sure. It's beautiful here, isn't it? With the lake and the sound of the river at night, and all the trees as far as you can see. What did you think when you first arrived at Gooseberry?

You're one of the smartest students in your year, and you have a good heart underneath it all. If anyone sees that as "good enough," that's more a problem with them than you.

I thought that I loved it. And yes, I do still love parts of it. Ribbonfin's a much nicer sleeping arrangement than Slytherin. Seems like I'll always be near water, though.

I... don't agree with all of that. But I know you must believe it's true. I don't know what else to say. Sorry. Thanks.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU WERE NOT EXCITED ABOUT RETURNING TO MY LOVING ARMS?

Oh no, this is going to make me sound sappy.

You were one of the only things I was actually excited about coming back to.

It's okay to sound sappy if that's how you feel, boo.

Now we have to hug it out. You know that, right?

Hugs all around, but if either of us cries, we have to swear to never speak of it.
