Love is in the air and Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and we all love shipping nonsense so, I mean, why beat around the bush? Use this meme to talk ships and romance and maybe you'll even find your characters a Valentine. 💘

Leo, Pt. 1

Name: Leonardo Fiori
What do they look for in a person?: Overall, he looks for someone who can keep up with him, and someone he has to fight to keep up with. Leo's deep-seated inferiority deal means that he's always looking to climb and improve himself. If the person he's with doesn't challenge him, and isn't encouraging him to constantly show off that he's good enough and then some, he'd probably find himself unfulfilled. He's a huge fan of verbal chess as flirting, especially in the early stages of a relationship. He wants someone who is strong, because he isn't there to nurse egos that don't deserve to be nursed. He wants someone he can idolize a little for their accomplishments and passion. If they're a little scary about it, awesome. Then he can prove he isn't intimidated. He doesn't consciously know that he's also looking for an undercurrent of returned support and caring, but if he didn't have that, he'd find a way to talk himself out of the relationship quickly. He wouldn't function well with someone who bossed him around and didn't respect him, even if he could idolize them completely. This seems like an impossible standard so now I will stop writing.

What do they find romantic?: Sharing victories and working for common goals are very romantic. Winning together is obviously the greatest thing he could have as a couple. He wants to rise high in the world, and he wants someone who's at his side, but doing the same thing, too, so they can always keep each other sharp.

Leo's pretty low-maintenance on a day to day level, though. Any little gesture of sincere care or esteem touches him, and he's quick to return them. He's somehow always ridiculously flattered by the idea that someone else has thought of him and bothered to do something for him, and he always wants to pay that back immediately to show that's how he feels too.

Who do they have a crush on?: Rafael because obviously. I wish I could give you a better idea on other people he's crushed on, but I don't know, because he doesn't crush first. He sees if you pass the gauntlet of banter-flirting first. If you can hang and have other impressive qualities, that's when he starts focusing on one person at a time and actually beginning to have feelings.
Are they seeing someone right now?: He's been dating Rafael for almost three months, and he's in pretty deep, and he is very happy :(

What are they like in a relationship?: Dating Leo is like being in a swimming pool; there's a shallow end and a deep end. If you stay in the shallow end, there's a lot of flirting, touching, LOTS of banter, and back and forth. It's fun! It's also nothing that lasts or builds up to anything real. He's probably had a couple of these arrangements, because they're painless and fun and easy to leave. After they're over, he's probably able to very quickly go back to being just friends, because hey, no harm, no feelings, no foul.

The deep end is a little different, because then Leo's real person feelings come out to play. Suddenly, it's important to show exactly how he feels. He's not great at expressing feelings, so he communicates in flirting and a lot of physical affection, both in private and in public. He's a very physical person in general, so passion in any form is important.

Leo's loyalty is always present and always quiet. So it's important for him to demonstrate that he will be there when he's needed. He tries to be respectful of boundaries, and he doesn't want to fight other people's battles for them, since his partner's always going to be kind of kickass on their own. But he wants it known that he's always there in the wings, waiting. Since he's so pragmatic and careful in relationships, he sometimes needs his partner to take the lead, or he never will. (It REALLY was a good thing Rafael asked him out initially, or he might have been flirting with him needlessly for like, years.) He's quick to follow at the slightest suggestion, because he REALLY IS feeling the same things, but because he's so calculated, he's a lot less likely to make Big Initial Leaps, at least at first. This is why so many fake relationships that I don't have names for yet languished and died in the shallow end.

i'm watching the UK through for the first time rn (i tried when it came out and didn't for w/e reason) and it's got funny bits, it's entertaining, etc. but emma warns that it is not a show to watch when you want Happy, it can go from "lol" to "wtf" pretty fast.

all the sex, drugs, partying, felonies?, and misadventures make the gooseberry kids look super normal though. so that's nice.

	ehjnmafa i don't have any gifs of the show quinn's icon set is from (and making them is hard!) but when i was looking for screencaps i kept getting confused because her character's boyfriend on the show is named "ty." so in all quinn's kissing icons, she's kissing a boy named ty" my brain couldn't figure out what was going on for a while.
