Love is in the air and Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and we all love shipping nonsense so, I mean, why beat around the bush? Use this meme to talk ships and romance and maybe you'll even find your characters a Valentine. 💘

Name: Mackenzie Prince

What do they look for in a person?:
Oof. Kenzie likes messy. She's too careful and calculating for her own good, so she looks for people who are anything but. I think this is probably what made her struggle with Cricket, who she really likes. But Cricket is very careful and tidy, and Kenzie wants someone who's more of an obvious disaster. She likes brashness, recklessness, and people who are wild and a little chaotic. She doesn't want to fix these people, though, she wants them to fix her by letting her get a little down and dirty and do unexpected and wild things.

She also likes people she can get a rise out of. If you're too chill when she teases you and flirts with you, then she's bored. Kenzie knows she's a handful, so anyone who can roll with her weird jokes and doesn't seem to be overwhelmed is appealing.

On the other hand, she is practical and always has her future in the back of her mind. Which means any time she likes someone, she's also thinking Will my parents like them? If we married, what would my family say? This is often in direct opposition to her desire to date people who will be chaotic and exciting, so... she's livin' that single life.

What do they find romantic?:
Kenzie's a femme fatale. She wants a sweep-her-off-her-feet dramatic noir romance. She dreams of a love that will burn the school to the ground. It's proooobably why she doesn't actually date more, because anything less than this feels... lackluster.

She finds heroism romantic, and if you're not romantic, she'll romanticize the hell out of you until you are. It's a little tongue in cheek, but Kenzie doesn't do sincerity well. This means that despite her being an asshole, deep down she kind of likes ~nice people~ who will do the ~right thing~. This might not be a good idea long term, and has a lot to do with wanting to be the bad girl who gets with the anti-hero. The anti-hero still has to have that heart of gold. She wants to be the Catwoman to your Batman, basically.

I think the height of romance for Kenzie would be luring her to do something stupid and reckless. Break rules, get into fights, do something dangerous, etc. The adrenaline and shared experience would melt her icy heart.

Who do they have a crush on?: She's got a big ol' crush on Ulysses. Run.

Are they seeing someone right now?: Nope!

What are they like in a relationship?:
Enthusiastic~ ❤ Expect a lot of pigtail pulling to get your attention, lots of teasing and flirting. Lots of friendfiction, apparently. Kenzie's affectionate with the people she loves, and it'd be no different with someone she was dating. She'll want everything to be FUN, and will look for lots of entertaining shared activities. She also wants to be a power couple so perfect your intimidating walk so you can strut through the school hallway with her and make weaker willed students cower.

She wants to know all your flaws and all the awful things about you, and then rather than try to fix you, she wants to tell you she likes it. She's not the girl to date if you want to get on a path to conquering your flaws, but if you want genuine acceptance of how you're secretly judgemental or have a bad temper or whatever, Mackenzie's great.

She's so very, very not jealous. You want to keep doing kissing games? Cool, knock yourself out. You want to joke flirt with people? That's cool too. As long as she knows she's #1, Kenzie's content. On the other hand, if she thinks someone's out to steal the apple of her eye, there will be blood. If one of you sweet nice children really want Kenzie to for real target you, wait for her to get serious about someone and then try to steal them from her.

Uhhh but she's bad with feelings. They confuse her, she's bad at reading people, and the most comfort you'll get from her is going to be physical. Hugs and stuff she can manage, and there's a romantic appeal to kissing away tears and all that. Buuuut get it out of your system, and then be done with it. She doesn't want to talk about it. Hopefully you have someone else you can go to for emotional support.

Anything else?: All of my characters are way too intense about this.
