What do they look for in a person?: Honestly? There's a lot that goes into what Vee looks for, but she doesn't consciously know she's looking. She likes people who are fun, upbeat, kind, intelligent (but maybe not as nerdy-studying as her because she NEEDS someone to remind her to take breaks). She wants someone who can be goofy with her, who makes her feel pretty and sexy and desired, but can also do silly things and be a little cheesy. Who doesn't mind when she gets sensitive, doesn't mind ~feelings~, who will talk about random things without ever feeling awkward. She doesn't like bullies, doesn't like overly Alpha males, doesn't like super controlling people. They have to be light and energetic and fun and not super serious because her perfectionist side needs an outlet that her partner will help.
What do they find romantic?: It really depends on the person again. She likes gestures that are meaningful and personal, like gifts catered to her or dates catered to her. Physical affection, teasing comments, them having her back/being protective (though not overprotective or controlling). She really is a secret (or maybe not so secret?) attention whore and likes feeling loved and adored, though tries not to be selfish or mean about it.
Who do they have a crush on?: Um do I have to say it? We don't already know? ;) RAS ♥
Are they seeing someone right now?: Yes, Ras. It's going really well (she thinks? hopes?!)
What are they like in a relationship?: Vee isn't really super different, though how she acts largely depends on the person she's dating. She's little miss perfect, remember? She has to be the perfect girlfriend too! It helps that she interacts and relates to most people so well so it's easy to settle into a relationship and bond closely. She doesn't need to be around them 24/7, but she certainly likes that. She doesn't want to be clingy, and honestly has a lot going on, but she does have deep-seated insecurities that she's good at hiding. (Like do they really like her? Are they annoyed?) She's not a super jealous person, but those insecurities can rear their heads if someone starts showing a particular interest in her partner. She's also a huge fan of physical contact, in all its forms, and is very affectionate with whoever she's with. (Unless they indicate they would like otherwise) Vee also thinks in terms of a coupling a lot of the time once she's ALL IN, and there's no other way for her to be. She is a chronic spoiler when it comes to her significant others, and will dote on them to the maximum.
Anything else?: She likes to feel adored and be doted on, she is shameless. She can also be a low key flirt without meaning to.

like i don't wanna be that dick that is like 'why isn't this like the book tho'

but the books have plots that need to be fulfilled in order to get where you're going and the show seems to be halfassing nearly all the plots from the first two books??? (Does Max even exist? I don't even know)

and simon legitimately needs to feed from a shadowhunter to be a daylighter (and that mark of cain needs to fucking happen)

i like all that shit they're adding for Rafael tho A+ keep it up.

Max does exist! He was in one or two episodes in S1! I mean I liked the writing choices in S1, although S2 has been... highly questionable with the new showrunners lmao. There's no point being married to the books since a TV show really needs to be its own thing to work, and they've frankly done a good job evading some of the weirdly sexist/racist/biphobic elements in the Clare's books. ~~And S2 has ruined a lot of that again but i d e k~~

BUT YEAH LIKE from some comments from the cast in S1, I had a feeling they were definitely headed to the Mark of Cain plot but... with the new showrunners, WHO THE HELL KNOWS NOW. but yeah tbh only the downworlders are getting good writing rn, everything else is just "what"

BASICALLY. Like I get attached to comic book shows, so I'm cool with people changing shit up so long as it is honest to the original material. (or mostly so long as it's good). So I don't actually remember the books giving an entire shit about Rafael's backstory, so I like that we're seeing his broship with magnus.

Tho sometimes when I watch them dismiss a plot I enjoyed in the book, I can't help but think 'but you kept the weird incest with not even your actual brother plot...' That's gonna be my entire thought if they side step the mark of cain entirely. This is their entire chance to actually miss the actual incest with your actual brother plotline tho, because i can totally do without that.

	I can't even watch anymore, and I know I can't be married to the books and like TV but I thought they'd at least try to stick relatively close to it. And I could roll with changes in S1 but like from what I've heard of S2, just. NOPE. All the nope. But they still better do Mark of Cain and all that because it's amazing. Um. I can't even talk about it right now. I haven't watched this season yet because we moved and didn't have DVR, but then I saw some posts and heard what they did and I CAN'T. I know I'm weird, but I love those characters so much and the only reason I kept watching was because of that and Alec/Magnus (plus the hot hot cast) But because it was SO BAD in season one and only got worse, yeah. I can't. I'm getting riled up talking about it after the stuff I learned, so.

Plus I don't think that will happen? Because they've already blown past the ship thing where he did it so. I dunno. SO MUCH IS WRONG. I'm so heartbroken. I feel like I know those characters man.
