What do they look for in a person?:
She likes strong, ambitious young women with solid plans and goals for their future that they're actively working toward achieving. She wants to be with someone who will be successful after graduation. Shallowly, she prefers Purebloods for longterm relationships because her mother is Sacred 28 and her family is actively trying to integrate themselves into Pureblood society in North America.

What do they find romantic?:
Maggie honestly just wants to be told she's beautiful and intelligent and showered with compliments. She can't bake or cook for shit, so she loves when girls give her food they've made. TESS'S CUPCAKE FORMAL INVITE WAS A+, SWOON-WORTHY.

She likes typical romantic shit like long walks through the gardens and holding hands and being rowed around the lake in a canoe.

Who do they have a crush on?: She still holds a candle for her ex-girlfriend/the former HG who hasn't bothered contacting her since they broke up right before school. Maggie has it in her head that she's going to graduate and join the Auror program and her ex is going to see how successful she is and want to rekindle their romance and Maggie will deny her at first and make her work for it but then Anj is going to confess her love for her and how she's so sorry for snubbing her and Maggie will take her back and they're going to live happily ever after as a lesbian (almost) Pureblood power couple.

That's not gonna happen.

She's mostly just desperate for attention and affection right now and wants to feel attractive and wanted, so she's sort of been eyeing Etta up since the tryouts for something casual. She like Tess a lot and Tess is close to her ideal, but she's a Muggleborn and Maggie is wary about starting something with her and getting invested, SORRY.

Maggie's also wondering if she has feelings for Cricket or if it's just normal jealousy of not wanting her friend being taken away. (She purposefully suggests Nice Boys she knows Cricket wouldn't like.) She would nitpick at Wes and the thing with Kenzie inspired a new jealousy because she couldn't wrap her head around the idea of Cricket being bisexual before she saw her looking glam with Kenzie at the formal and she had a thought of, "Okay, well, if you like femme girls then why not me?" Seeing Kenzie flirt with Uly at the tryouts and over the journals has her feelin' a lil smug in the pettiest of ways.

But also, AGENT LARKE, HEYOOOOOO!!!! NOW THAT'S A STRONG, SUCCESSFUL WOMAN AND POTENTIAL FUTURE CO-WORKER!!!! YOUNG, FEMME, BEAUTIFUL, POWERFUL AS HELL, EXCEPTIONALLY INTELLIGENT, COULD KILL A MAN!!!! MACUSA MACUSA MACUSA MACUSA!!!!

Are they seeing someone right now?: No.

What are they like in a relationship?:
Maggie is romantic and sappy and wants to hold hands constantly and slip cutesy notes and sneak little treats into their school bags and she wants to know their schedule so they can meet up and spend time together and study together and go on walks together and spend every waking moment together. She'll be dedicated and loyal and attentive, but she can be a lot to handle once she's finally in the relationship. The courting process with her takes forever because she's indecisive and constantly weighing the pros and cons; if they're a Pure, though, she's pretty quick to latch on.

Magdalen is clingy. At worst, she has a controlling streak and is prone to jealousy. She tends to avoid dating bisexuals for the shitty reason of not wanting a boy to aggressively swoop in and assert himself while they're still on the getting-to-know-you phase.

Anything else?: The perfect Head Girl is secretly a bit of a mess.

the tables have turned??? except maggie's more possessive and jealous and petty and selfish about it

i also think it's part of preemptive separation anxiety because she knows they're going to be graduating soon. so she just wants to spend as much time with her wife as she can :^( and if her wife is seeing someone else, that's less time they have to spend together before they graduate. she also wants to be single and out in the adult world together with cricket so they can experience the dating scene and it'll be like high school where they gossip about prospective dates and bond over getting salty and petty over people.

i imagine she was way more chill about cricket seeing people while maggie was dating anj last year bc she thought she was gonna be with anj forever and she wasn't worried about being alone after graduation.
