CONFERENCE APPROVALS

If you plan on having your character visited by family, you must fill out this form by Thursday, January 19. If you fail to do this, you can't participate in the event. We won't be backdating these.

Feel free to use this post to plot and discuss amongst yourselves as well. There will be an upcoming, player-run meme to discuss family PBs so don't worry about that too much for now.

Please keep the following rules in mind:

You may have up to three individuals visit your character.

They must all be legally related to your character. Parents, legal guardians, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, step-parents and step-siblings are all allowed. Family friends are not.

They will be staying one night at Gooseberry. Each family unit gets one room to share.

Siblings must fill out this form individually if you want teacher feedback.

Your characters' family will receive feedback from all of their teachers... but we're only going to write it out for one teacher for our sanity.

We'll give you feedback as early as we can so that you can plan OOC in advance.

A mod will comment to you, giving you approval or asking for adjustments or clarification.

Things you will need mod involvement for, in order to account for NPC reactions and pacing:

Injuries or other health emergencies.

Any rule breaking by family members.

Incidents of abuse.

Violent or especially loud arguments that might raise the concern of staff.

Character:
House/Year:
Family: Who will be visiting your character? You can have up to three individual visitors. They must all be legally related to your character. At least one must be over 18.
General Plan: What do you intend to happen? This needs only be a rough description. Remember, any major events must be discussed with mods on this post before you go forward with them.
Teacher Desired: Your character must be in the teacher’s class or the teacher must be their Head of House, obviously.
Student Performance: Describe how your character is performing in this class, and how they react to the teacher. Try to avoid describing too much about how the teacher feels about them.
Anything else?: Are you hoping for a positive or negative response? Are you looking to get your character in trouble? Is there a particular outcome you’re hoping for? We will try to help you out within the bounds of the chosen teacher’s personality.

Character: Rafael Ramirez
House/Year: Coppertale Senior
Family: Ricardo Ramirez, Rafael's older brother, who's 19.
General Plan: Qué lástima, Anita and Lorenzo are too busy to come check in on Rafael, but don't worry, big brother Ric is coming instead! Ricardo is absolutely just using this as an excuse to see all of his Gooseberry friends who haven't graduated yet. His investment in how amazing Rafael is always doing because he's a teacher's pet and has to outdo everyone is... low. What's the point when everyone already knows you have straight As, Rafito??? He does want to see this new person Rafael is dating, though, and he's already decided he's Not Good Enough for Rafael. Sorry, Leo. Chances are Rafael and Ricardo will bet into a big uncomfortable argument before he leaves.
Teacher Desired: Ms. Lilywhite
Student Performance: Rafael excels in DADA, and in Occlumency he's a natural ~~when he can control his temper~~. He's a teacher's pet in all of his classes, always a little too eager, cuts people off, a little too assertive and always with that prim cockiness. It's possible Lilywhite finds him mildly exasperating at times.
Anything else?: Ricardo might learn from Lilywhite that Rafael's switching career paths to become an Auror after her encouragement ~~and because he met a cute boy~~. Ric won't particularly care unless he finds out Rafael was in any part influenced by wanting to stay in America for his friends or relationships. And then, oh boy, it's going to be a lot of ARE YOU THROWING AWAY YOUR POLITICAL ASPIRATIONS FOR THIS GUY??? WAIT, HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN TOGETHER? RAVI, I THINK THIS RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM IS MOVING TOO FAST. DO YOU THINK HE TALKED RAFAEL INTO IT??? YOU KNOW HOW RAFITO INVESTS HIMSELF SO MUCH IN OTHER PEOPLE. I JUST DON'T WANT HIM GETTING AHEAD OF HIMSELF. THAT LEO BOY IS SO RESERVED, I WONDER IF HE LIKES RAFAEL AS MUCH AS RAFAEL CLEARLY LIKES HIM.

This is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Most students would remember that last year, Ricardo Ramirez was an extremely popular Coppertale. He's gorgeous, charming, a lot of fun, very generous... and also an unapologetic narcissist. Ric was a founding member of LARP. He and Rafael had a very tense relationship that works best when they can escape one another. Ricardo is also responsible for killing Quinn/Rafael, as well as chasing off anyone else who wanted to date his little bro. He's protective, verging on controlling. But wow he is so handsome.

If Ty's there for any of the worst Ricardo moments, he might say something because he knows that Leo makes Raf happy and he's seen Ric mess that up before. He's in LARP too, so he sort of knows how Ricardo operates; your good looks and charisma aren't going to sway him, buddy!

He's not generally confrontational and he may try to change the subject or distract or otherwise cut the conversation short first, but Rafael's his bestie and the gloves could come off if it comes to that.
