PARENT-TEACHER
CONFERENCE APPROVALS

If you plan on having your character visited by family, you must fill out this form by Thursday, January 19. If you fail to do this, you can't participate in the event. We won't be backdating these.

Feel free to use this post to plot and discuss amongst yourselves as well. There will be an upcoming, player-run meme to discuss family PBs so don't worry about that too much for now.

Please keep the following rules in mind:

You may have up to three individuals visit your character.

They must all be legally related to your character. Parents, legal guardians, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, step-parents and step-siblings are all allowed. Family friends are not.

They will be staying one night at Gooseberry. Each family unit gets one room to share.

Siblings must fill out this form individually if you want teacher feedback.

Your characters' family will receive feedback from all of their teachers... but we're only going to write it out for one teacher for our sanity.

We'll give you feedback as early as we can so that you can plan OOC in advance.

A mod will comment to you, giving you approval or asking for adjustments or clarification.

Things you will need mod involvement for, in order to account for NPC reactions and pacing:

Injuries or other health emergencies.

Any rule breaking by family members.

Incidents of abuse.

Violent or especially loud arguments that might raise the concern of staff.

Character:
House/Year:
Family: Who will be visiting your character? You can have up to three individual visitors. They must all be legally related to your character. At least one must be over 18.
General Plan: What do you intend to happen? This needs only be a rough description. Remember, any major events must be discussed with mods on this post before you go forward with them.
Teacher Desired: Your character must be in the teacher’s class or the teacher must be their Head of House, obviously.
Student Performance: Describe how your character is performing in this class, and how they react to the teacher. Try to avoid describing too much about how the teacher feels about them.
Anything else?: Are you hoping for a positive or negative response? Are you looking to get your character in trouble? Is there a particular outcome you’re hoping for? We will try to help you out within the bounds of the chosen teacher’s personality.

Character: Penelope Vargas
House/Year: Coppertale Senior
Family: Teresa, Hector, and Desmond Vargas (Mother, Father, Younger Brother)
General Plan: Because she didn't visit over break and her communication with them has been pretty lax, her parents surprise her by showing up for Parent Teacher Conferences! Yay! Penelope is very less than thrilled and mopes/groans/etc the entire time.
Teacher Desired: Potions teacher!
Student Performance: Penelope is awful at potions. She might be better at it, but she hates the class and doesn't try which the teacher knows, though the "might be better" is just niceties and speculation. Her academic performance in that class is dismal at best and it is suggested she drop the class entirely. She's also disrespectful and often tardy/combative. Her parents are REALLY REALLY NOT HAPPY.
Anything else?: Definitely looking for her to get in trouble with her parents!

Cecil Honeychurch

Character: Cecil Honeychurch
House/Year: Azurcrest/Senior
Family: Ida Honeychurch (mother) and Aesop Honeychurch (father)
General Plan: Cecil has a ridiculously good relationship with his parents; he loves them and respects them and will be over the moon to have them at Gooseberry for a day or two. His dad is an energetic and eccentric fellow that will want to explore the campus as much as he can (little parents-and-kids hike anyone?), meet Cecil's friends and teachers, and check out Cecil's beehive (obviously!). His mom's kind but more serious and will be more focused on Cecil's acadmeics and talking with his teachers, though she'd also like to meet his friends and may come with baked goods (yes, she's the reason Cecil's like that). So...generally, fluff? Cecil predicted the Parent-Teacher Conferences and knows that it will be a good experience for him. As soon as he hears about it, he'll make that connection and be looking forward to it.
Teacher Desired: Mr. Chettri.
Student Performance: Cecil does well in Divination; he works hard to understand the different forms of divination and the theories beneatht them, practices diligently, and often consults Mr. Chettri about readings that he's done independently of class. While he's still trying to hone his talents and learn how to cope with vague or unpleasant predictions, he's a gifted seer. He also admires and respects Mr. Chettri and enjoys his class. He's definitely a teacher's pet.
Anything else?: This event will probably just be sunshine and rainbows for Cecil. At least with regard to his own family. Also, just to note: Cecil's mom is tall (about 6') but his dad is actually on the shorter side of average (about 5'9"). Genetics are funny.

Character: Tabitha Ogletree
House/Year: Ribbonfin Senior
Family: Eleanora and Theodore Ogletree, aka mom and dad!
General Plan: Tabs is very worried about the pressure of her dad actually planning his meetings around coming to this thing and is anxious about it in the run up to the meetings, and during the PTC event. Lord knows why, given that she has her college place by this point and just needs to pass, but her parents would obviously be concerned about finding out if she will, of course.
Teacher Desired: Can it be a teacher who is not a head of house but your character is in their class? Because if so, Ms Thrussell. Tabs would also accept Hightower or Merrill as she is in both of their classes.
Student Performance: Tabs is doing very well in her artistic based classes and extracurriculars, does pretty well in History of Magic, but is solid Bs in everything else. Tabitha likes all of her teachers, but her favourites are Thrussell, Acuna, Merrill and Hightower.
Anything else?: A generally positive response, with possible comments on personal relationships and how Tabs is possibly letting them stress herself out.

Character: Dominic Tremblay
House/Year: Coppertale Junior
Family: Seraphina and Jean Phillipe Tremblay, aka mom and dad!
General Plan: Dom's parents are intrigued by Gooseberry and are very interested in everything and anything that they are allowed to see. Outdoorsy people by nature, they too would enjoy hiking around and seeing what the campus is like and participate in all activities, and socialise with the other parents, especially those of Dom's friends.
Teacher Desired: Mr Calderon Boot because I love him almost as much as I love Merrill. And I love Merrill a lot.
Student Performance: Dom is an excellent student, especially diligent in subjects that feed into the Auror programme. He isn't meek and answers questions, even engages in banter where the teacher will allow it, but knows exactly where the line is and doesn't cross it.
Anything else?: Generally positive, though someone needs to tell Dm to not pin down his idea for his senior project too soon!

Character: Will Chase
House/Year: Azurcrest Sophomore
Family: Angelica, Richard and Maria Chase - Will's adoptive mom, dad and 28 year old adoptive sister.
General Plan: Will makes awkward jokes in the run up to the event about his family standing out, because not everyone knows that he is adopted (and it's obvious when one sees that his mom is Ute, his dad African American and his sister is their biological child). People might think he is nervous for that reason alone, but Will is desperate to prove himself and please his parents with how he's doing academically. Ironically, they're more concerned with how he's doing socially and if he has friends here. If characters are friends with Will, expect one of the Chases to make your acquaintance!
Teacher Desired: MERRILL. Though if Will can't have him, A's he's Head of House but not one of Will's subject teachers, he'll take Mrs O Hare, please!
Student Performance: Will has boundless enthusiasm for outdoorsy subjects or those that can be applied to animal care. He could take certain subjects more seriously (sorry, Chettri) and it's probably advisable that Will drops that class and takes a different Advanced Study next year.
Anything else?: Generally positive but for the love of god, Will, try and make it slightly less obvious that you don't enjoy Divination?

Character: Diego Morales
House/Year: Azurcrest Senior
Family: No one lol (Okay, there will be people, but they'll be on Mina and Essie's ticket.)
General Plan: Diego will be under the impression that his other other mother, Sabela Ceron, will be the parent attending P-TC in his name. He'll be very excited for his friends to meet his most elusive parent, as it's doubtful any of them have seen Sabela in anything but photographs. She's a petite and beautiful Artist with a capital A, and it's clear Diego takes after her a lot. Maybe too much. Unfortunately, she's going to do what she does best, and cancel on Diego at the last minute. Instead, Johanna and Ofelia will be speaking to Diego's teachers.
Teacher Desired: Mr. Merrill
Student Performance: Diego is a passable student in history. He's not great at keeping up with readings, but he's attentive and pleasant. He usually manages a low B.
Anything else?: Mostly I think Diego's moms are going to want to discuss Diego's behavioral problems with Mr. Merrill in person.

Character: Joanna May
House/Year: Ebonhide sophomore
Family: Alessandra, Vincenzo and Pia May - aka mom, dad and the formidable Nonna!
General Plan: It's clear that Joanna's grandmother is the dominant figure in the family. Her parents are slightly more passive and quiet, taking things in and doing some exploring, but it is Pia May who takes the greatest interest in her granddaughter's education, given that she was the one who pushed for Joanna to apply for a scholarship in the first place.
Teacher Desired: I would like Merrill for the lols, but Joanna would happily accept Ms Rhee.
Student Performance: Joanna is a straight A student with no problems keeping her scholarship. However, asides from clubs, she doesn't have much of a social life so crash and burn would be a natural worry.
Anything else?: Positive generally, slight negative on the social skills front.

Quinn Cunningham

Character: Quinn Cunningham
House/Year: Azurcrest/Senior
Family: Flora (Flo) Stewart Cunningham (mother) and Gordon (Gord) Cunningham (father)
General Plan: Not much.
- Flo and Quinn will play a very 'spirited' game of pick-up hockey in the morning before breakfast. Not organized or anything like the league, but I'll also post under Player Events on the plot calendar because their voices will carry and the shit-talking will be enthusiastic.
- Their very deliberate mission will be to ask Quinn an as-annoying-as-possible number of questions about Gooseberry, most of them frustratingly inane. Gord will try to share embarrassing stories with her friends. You know, Parent Antics.
Teacher Desired: Oakes.
Student Performance: Quinn tries hard and does very well in the class, however, she begins to falter when required to brainstorm New and Creative ideas — at which point she gets a little bitter and less enthusiastic because she could be doing more tangible work than this. In general, she enjoys Artificing as a class and is a big fan of Oakes.

This year she's been spending a lot of her off-hours in the Artificing Shed to work on her Senior Project. She and Jesse often work in there together in a companionable cone of silence, buuuut the two of them ~~usually~~ sometimes pass the time between experiments and results by coordinating sweet dance routines.
Anything else?: Nnnnooooope! Quinn's parents are embarrassing as heck but she's also really close with them. Any frustrations on her side will be superficial.

Character: Riley Stamper
House/Year: Azurcrest Junior
Family: Yesenia Puig (mother), Joe Stamper (father), Angel Stamper (the worst/my favorite brother)
General Plan: I have exactly one idea, and that is that like 95% of the time, I want Riley to turn everything her mother says into a fight. She always makes it sound like her mom is equally to blame for all of their fights. No. Riley is a problem child. Anyone who understands Spanish will hear a lot of "RILEY MAE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?" and the like. Only in Spanish. ~~I DON'T LIVE IN CALIFORNIA ANYMORE I DON'T NEED TO REMEMBER SPANISH.~~

OH and her older brother will probably attempt to bring in alcohol and other contraband to deliver to his baby sister. Feel free to stop the hell out of that idc no one needs more Captain Morgan.
Teacher Desired: Mr. Merrill. We need someone with a softer blow to tell the Stamper folks that their child is the worst.
Student Performance: Riley has been particularly awful this year. She doesn't want to go to class. She takes any excuse to fuck off from her homework. The only things she puts any effort into are things that are going to get her attention or seem ~fun~ and she's probably lost a lot of House points already. Please, someone talk to her parents about her behavior.
Anything else?: I have no clue HOW we're going to get it through Riley's thick little skull that she needs to actually turn in some homework and go to class once in a while, but I would like to try.

Character: Ravinder Dhaliwal
House/Year: Ribbonfin Senior
Family: Amrit Dhaliwal, Ravi's older sister who is 19.
General Plan: The plan will be for Ravi's whole family to come, but his parents will end up being too busy to visit. This will be somewhat crushing because Ravi is very self-conscious about how his Muggle family doesn't understand what being a wizard even means. But never fear, Ravi's beloved older sister will show up instead, so at least he'll have a nice time.
Teacher Desired: Prospero. Ravi is a teacher's pet, all of his teachers are probably going to say good things about him, so his Muggle sister meeting a house-elf would be the most interesting. Why am I justifying this, I'm going to be writing this response. :|
Student Performance: Ravi loves Magical Rudiments, he's competent at cooking and household charms, but he excels at sewing after all his years designing and making costumes for LARP. I imagine he asks for a lot of extra help from Prospero for his projects, so Prospero knows Ravi very well?
Anything else?: I just want it to be cute... :'(
