ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dec 29
Last announcements of the year!!!!! :O

If you have not yet already done so, please post to December's Activity Check! (If you've resolved to drop a character, please do us a favour and let us know here or in the Dropbox so we're not awkwardly emailing you later to be like "hey... what's up...")

January's plot calendar will be posted on Saturday, December 31 at 10 AM Mountain Time. (If you need help figuring out when that will be for you, take a look at the green indicator here.) We've learned our lesson from December, so there will be less IC/OOC's, but hopefully characters will be able to devote proper focus to the ones which are coming up. Three words: Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Character Name: Victoria Powers
Plans For Next Year: I'd really like her to actually fall for someone or have strong feelings for someone. That's nothing she's experienced before. It would be someone she already knows and cares about, idk! I also want to see her hone in on her project more specifically. Maybe get caught in one of her pranks?
Alternate PB: I settled on Jane really fast, but I also briefly considered Bella Thorne
How would that have changed them?: I don't think Vic would have been quite the spunky/sarcastic girl she is. I feel Bella would have made her more..mild? More typical girly girl? Idk

Character Name:Lachlan Galbraith
Plans For Next Year: I want him to be challenged in his sunny attitude. Other than that he's open and I'd love anyone to throw him in personal plots where he could help :)
Alternate PB: I was originally going to make him a bit more nerdy and less sweet, and so I was thinking of Michael Cera from Arrested Development era. Would have been really different.
How would that have changed them?: I think the hugs would have been more awkward, and probably people would respond to him very differently. I think he'd be even more dorky haha.

Character Name: Anuhea Alapai
Plans For Next Year: Get on the good side of Tabitha, ish. Figure out her senior project. Go like 3 weeks in a row without a terrible life choice. Probably make more bad life choices (anyone want a short, intense relationship? haha)
Alternate PB: Considered Janel Parrish
How would that have changed them?: I think she would have been more calculating and less like...just making bad choices. Probably less friendly.

Character Name: Tess Noble

Plans For Next Year: Man idk,

Alternate PB: Finding a PB for Tess was so hard. Like, I kept looking at ~sporty~ pbs, but they all still clearly wore makeup and had long lovely hair (even if it was in a ponytail). I was telling Alex, I needed to find a PB from a movie where a girl cross dressed, bc thanks to Hollywood, that was gonna be the only way I found a girl not in makeup. Then we were like MOTOCROSSED! And Alex is my rp mom so she made me icons. =D The only other choice that even came close was Jordan Todosey in Degrassi.

In her last incarnation, Tess was PBed by Hannah Hart and I really thought hard about if I could maybe try to use her still, like from when she first started my drunk kitchen, but 1) she looked pretty different 2) she was still to old 3) it would have all been icons from poorly lit low res youtube videos.

How would that have changed them?: Jordan Todosey just looks way less aggressive and outgoing, so she would probably have been quieter and more broody? That wouldn't have worked.

Character Name: Jesse McBride
Plans For Next Year: Play it fast and loose, as per. But, actually, I will probably send him on a trip or two to test his senior project/be an international man of mystery. Maybe his older sister might come to PTC in lieu of one of his parents so everyone can mercilessly tease him for how similar she and Quinn look.
Alternate PB: YOU WILL NEVER GUESS! Jesse was almost 2001 era Cillian Murphy lol
How would that have changed them?: He would have been a completely different character. I wanted to keep all the 'Where is Jesse?' backstory and I originally thought maybe Jesse would be The Most Interesting Man on Earth but I didn't want another 'perfect' character. He was going to be cocky confident instead of self-deprecating confident and mysterious instead of SO LOUD buuuut how boring would that have been??? Then I watched a couple Miles Teller movies in a row -- That Awkward Moment, 21 & Over, and The Spectacular Now and was like... "THIS IS THE GUY! Simultaneously SO AWFUL and annoying, but also very charming and lovable???" Nipped a bit of backstory from a half-formed Florean Fortescue app and Jesse was born.

if quinn found out lila was visiting she'd owl her (or whatever. mail her a letter. idk.) *immediately* to hash out the best ways they can mess with people. mostly jesse. propositions would include: matching outfits and/or hairstyles, mirroring body language, obvious codewords that are actually nonsense, and THINGS THAT DIDN'T IMMEDIATELY COME TO MY MIND RIGHT NOW.

	RIGHT?! I used Cillian Murphy as a PB a lot when I was younger and no matter how dickish I made the character everyone just fell head over heels for him anyway and I didn't want that. Umm... they all have their charms and give a pretty good impression of the kind of lovable/hatable vibe I'm trying to portray with Jesse (IT'S VERY HARD)

That Awkward Moment is like Bridesmaids for boys. Just like... a tale of bromance. It's a pretty typical romcom format.

21 & Over is the funniest, but also the worst. Tale of drunken college revelry. You have to see Miles Teller 99.9% naked. Lots of gross humor.

The Spectacular Now is actually a good movie (I thought??) It's slower and sadder and more "real." And I will shamelessly admit Jesse's alcoholism is a direct result of the character he plays in this movie.

Character Name: Cameron
Plans For Next Year: Hahaha plans
Alternate PB: I had SUCH a hard time, I literally looked through every suggested PB in the resources page,l but most teenaged boys are like =| and I needed someone who looked EXPRESSIVE and like he might reasonably throw confetti at any given moment. His last incarnation was PBed by Travis Wall, and he neeearly was again, except I didn't want to use my like decade old icon set and I didn't want to make ~~Alex make me~~ more.
How would that have changed them?: Travis Wall is a dancer (he was on SYTYCD), and his focus was largely on dancing. Cameron is more focused on music/singing/acting. He's also more comical now (he's BO) and maybe has a little less game.
