Okay We still got a couple days until the next Grotto party. And it's been a minute since the last meme, but this game is like seventy percent journals, so there's a lot of character actions that get lost in translation but also are probably kinda super important.

SO we should have a Getting to know YOUR character meme. I don't know how to make the special text box within a box thing on our getting to know you meme, because apparently that was a question I forgot to ask during our html tutorial.

The questions are subject to change, because it doesn't matter. We don't go over apps that often after people join the game, so now is your time to gush about your characters so we as students attending the same school as your characters can know them as well as you do.

Name: Ursula Andress de Luca Age: A very recent 17 Birthing order and has this affected them: Ursula is an only child and this is pretty key to her character. She benefits from not having to share parental affections, but she's also the heir presumptive of a woman who is extremely proud of her start-up-turned-successful-business and Ursula has been very carefully charting her course to follow in her mother's footsteps and not fail. (Her mother is also not shy about her working class muggleborn origins and Ursula's whole demeanor comes far more from trying to fit in with the Pureblood society that her father's connections fling her into.) Daily schedule: Ursula has Very Important morning and evening beauty regimens that must be attended to. Free time is generally split between socializing and studying. Pet Peeves: Unnecessary crudeness (she's fine with swearing to a point, but she doesn't need to hear about your bodily functions), bullies (but also being friends with some of the biggest bullies???), animal stink, getting sweaty, LIFE IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS Sleeping situation: Ursula makes a point of sticking to an 8 hour sleep schedule and adjusts her daily activities accordingly. She braids her hair at night and sticks to modest, but cute, night clothing. She probably snores lightly because I'm mean to Ursula. Behavior in class: Attentive, organized, and confident, but not overly eager to provide answers. Always quick to snag up her preferred partner during group work. Utterly miserable during Outdoor Education. Very Distracted during Divination. Behavior out of class: Confident, commanding, and social. She's very concerned with coming off as professional, so that guides a lot of her general interactions. Always quick to cut in to depend any of her ducklings. Messier emotions tend to get bottled up. Clique: Ursula does a pretty good job of holding people at a distance. She uses nicknames like 'darling' and 'duckling' (reserved for non-senior Ribbonfins) to affect closeness, but it mostly comes off as condescending. She hovers the most around the junior Ribbonfins in and out of classes and is closest to Kurt of that crew. And she's maybe warming up to Addy and the Azurbabes. And she grew up with the Stokers so there's familiarity there that isn't quite closeness. But she doesn't really have a close confidante and she only rated as her cousin Coralee's fourth best friend back at Port Prep. Music: I'm so bad at music questions, but she probably prefers soft stuff she can hum along to over hard rock, rap, etc. Physical disposition: Ursula carries herself like she is always campaigning for class president, if class president was actually a thing here. Perfect posture, perfect hair, prefectly pressed clothes, etc. Situations that she can't just verbally smash her way through make her uncomfortable. Alcohol tends to make her more vulnerable, less caught up in her own image, and waaaay easier to rile up. Sexual partners: Ursula is the sort who always has a companion for a social function, but doesn't actually date. She's had two notable relationships in the past and both were short lived and ended poorly. In both cases, things never really progressed past some awkward makeouts - in the first case, because they were in middle school and Sy's asexual, and in the second, because Diego decided to dump her for reminding him of his sister. Which Ursula has since ascribed to the reason Sy dumped her as well. Otherwise, she makes appearances at Grotto parties and participates in silly bottle games, but avoids the heck out of 7 Minutes in Heaven. Aaand.. she kissed a girl for the first time at a Grotto party this year. Rumors: Gosh, idk, probably that she's an uptight bitch because really. 'Princess' gets thrown around a fair amount. Name: Nathaniel David Bird. Age: 17. 18 in February! Both my boys have winter birthdays, both my girls have summer birthdays, it’s weird how that happened. Birthing order and has this affected them: Nate’s an only child, raised by his mom and stepdad for the most part. If he ever mentions his dad, he’s probably talking about his stepdad, but he’s usually pretty vague about his parents in general because it’s slightly complicated. He grew up on his stepdad’s dairy farm, which has been a family farm for some vague number of generations, and since he’s the only child he feels like he was always expected to grow up and take over, but being magic and going to magic boarding school kind of threw a wrench in the works there. But really lbr Cricket and Maggie are his moms/sisters. Nate has three moms and two dads, this isn’t complicated. Daily schedule: Tries not to self-destruct. Daily. Pet Peeves: People touching his stuff, things being out of order, IDK man he kind of comes across way more easygoing than he actually is/was intended to. Sleeping situation: Nate has never gone to bed on time, but he’s up at 6:00 every morning, even if he doesn’t want to be. It’s the latest he can manage to sleep in, and that’s like 2.5 hours later than he gets to sleep when he’s home, COME HELP MILK THE DAMN COWS NATE. Behavior in class: Nate’s quiet, takes his notes, and doesn’t raise his hand or talk very often unless called on. If anyone hints that they need help, he’ll be right there, even if he really should be, like, working on his own shit and not worrying about these other people. Behavior out of class: NATE IS SO NEUROTIC, YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW. Like, it’s so hard to get it to come out in journals, but Nate is OCD as fuck, and right now he is super overloading himself (and also there’s GLITTER ON HIS STUFF FUCK YOU CAMERON) and he’s getting even more neurotic and sleeping like an hour a night. If you’re sitting next to him in the Bear Cave, you can probably hear him grinding his teeth, or you need to tell him to stop biting his nails. Also he never leaves the Bear Cave if he can help it. The library is his second dorm. He probably sleeps there more than he sleeps in his own bed. Clique: ALL ABOUT DAT PLATINUM TRIO LIFE. Music: He plays his terrible modern country on headphones while studying, doing homework, possibly trying to block everybody out so they can try to sleep. Name: Quinn Agnes Cunningham Age: 17 Birthing order and has this affected them: Only child. Parents doted and she was happy growing up alone. Her mom's run a day care out of their home for most of Quinn's life so she was used to having other kids around, and then to corralling them when she was able to "volunteer her time so generously." She tends to treat a lot of younger students like younger siblings. Daily schedule: Up 5:30/6, runs and showers before breakfast. Will work out additionally in afternoons (sometimes that's extra Quidditch despite being a reserve). "Free" time is spent studying in the library (study groups included) or working on her Senior Project in the Artificing Shed. Evening rounds after curfew. Rinse and repeat. Pet Peeves: People who break rules just to break rules so everybody else has to deal with the consequences; people who don't know how to keep their mouths shut and break rules discretely; people being unnecessarily cruel; indecisiveness; people who are obviously trying to waste her time Sleeping situation: Goes to bed after rounds, wakes up way too chipper for her run. Sleeps in booty shorts and tank tops, upgrades to t-shirts in the winter. Behavior in class: She ignores anybody disruptive and only pays attention to the professor and her notes. Many, many, many notes. She learned very early on that she shouldn't ask if they have homework until after class, and that when she does, she'll ask for extra credit. Isn't afraid to ask clarifying questions. Behavior out of class: If she's working she will put up with NONE OF YOUR BULLSHIT and will full-out ignore anybody trying to distract her; literally anything except a cracked skull can wait until she's done. If she's blocked off leisure time, she's cheerful, teases people lovingly, and revels in acting like the embarrassing big sister. Quinn ended up having a waaaay more playful, flirty, and biting sense of humour than I originally intended. Clique: UH? I DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW? Her main friends are like, Chris, Faye, and Tess, I think. Quinn may be SUPER OMG on journals but I don't know how many close friends she actually has. It may not be many. Ha. Plus, during meanlimes she's often reviewing notes, so... there's that. Music: there was that meme and it was like Weezer. Let's go with Weezer, and top 40 party dance shit. Physical disposition: She can go for hours without saying a peep if she's working, and will death-glare anybody trying to get her attention. She holds herself confidently and has pretty good posture (THANKS ATHLETICS!). She makes herself at home in social spaces — plopping onto chairs and resting her legs on the arms, stuff like that. Sexual partners: Rafael and Chris are the only people she's had sex with, and I think with Chris it hasn't been for a while. After she broke up with Rafael she tried to DATE because she was INDEPENDENT and also to tell Ricardo to fuck off somehow which was bad logic. This year she's like "YEAH I'M GOING STAG~" but she's actually pretty lonely because having one constant person to fall back on and hang out with was really good for her. She'll never admit to this though. SHE'S INDEPENDENT. Rumors: idek. She flirts a lot, people might think she's easy. Name: Regan Hobbs. SHE HAS NO MIDDLE NAME. Woe. Age: 15. She is a baby. Birthing order and has this affected them: Only child, and I think we can feel safe to say that she is the reason for that. Like, her parents knew they couldn't handle a second. Imagine her as a child. She would take a lot of energy. But her parents had no real notion of what kids are like and sort of treated her like a mini-adult from very early on and that is partly why she is the way she is, too. Daily schedule: She stays up way too late Arting every night, and still wakes up decently early, because Ree doesn't need much sleep. Pet Peeves: Gum-smacking. Lying, esp. if people are lying to themselves because...sigh. Shoving people into lockers, SY. Sleeping situation: Like I said, she stays up pretty late. Sleeps in boxers or pajama pants and a tank top. She has pretty vivid dreams and has probably thrashed her way out of her bunk once or twice last year; this year she has charms to stop that. Behavior in class: Ree is actually very good in class. She's a Participator and can be counted on to ask engaging questions and volunteer answers when needed, etc. She doodles during lectures, though. Doodling helps her concentrate. Behavior out of class: Into everything, talking to anyone and everyone, probably annoying people by asking questions that are too probing a lot. Clique: Ree is one of those girls who just doesn't give a shit about your clique and will insert herself into it whenever. Calvin and Frankie are her besties in her own year, and she has basically attached herself to the older Azurcrest party crew (junior girls + Levi mostly) whether they like it or not. But. Everyone. Always. Music: Girl bands mostly. Not necessarily girlbands, but those too. Just...expect a lot of female vocals. She likes singing at the top of her lungs and dancing around a lot, so she's kind of obnoxious, yes. Physical disposition: Ree takes up space. She's tall for a girl and unlike a lot of tall girls isn't uncomfortable about it, she doesn't hunch over or try to shrink herself down or anything. When she sits, she sprawls. She's extremely animated when she talks, maybe a little spastic when she gets really excited. She probably knocks things down a lot, and she just laughs about it and isn't embarrassed (she really is not embarrassed by much at all.) And when she laughs, it's tipping her head back and just...it's real laughing. She courts notice. She makes sure you see her, makes sure you know she's fine with being seen. Sexual partners: So we all know that Ree is not shy about her experience, right? She hit puberty young, she decided she wasn't confused about liking both boys and girls pretty early on, she goes for it. That being said, I don't think she's had "actual" (take my usage of that word with a grain of salt) penetrative sex with anyone. She's fooled around a lot, done everything up to that point and doesn't consider herself a virgin because she thinks virginity is a stupid social construct anyway, but she hasn't done that one part of it yet and she probably couldn't tell you why, exactly, except that as much as she doesn't think it should be a big deal that seems different in some way, it kind of is and she's not going to force herself into something just to prove she can do it. Name: Isaiah Emmanuel Covington. His parents are weirdly into Biblical names for pureblood wizards. Age: 17 Birthing order and has this affected them: Oldest. He comes off as more of your stereotypical middle child, maybe? IDK. Regardless, there's a lot of familial (fatherly) pressure on him since he's The Oldest Male of a Family- they're not like European purebloods, or anything, but it matters to them- and he has handled that pressure for most of his life by trying to hide from it. Not in a misbehaving way, obvy, in a literally hiding way. Daily schedule: Isaiah thrives on routine. He gets up at exactly the same time every morning (an hour later on weekends,) spends a few minutes reading to ease into being awake- he wakes up earlier than he actually "needs" to in order to give himself time to do this- gets ready, goes to breakfast and eats more-or-less the same thing. He does his homework immediately after classes. He spends most of his free time in the music room. He's in bed by ten pm on weeknights, maybe a little later on weekends. Having to change any of this throws him off and makes him fairly uncomfortable, and he worries about how much time he'll have to do his normal things or how behind he'll get even when it isn't warranted. Pet Peeves: The misophonia is strong with this ones. I just...I just really hope none of his roommates snore. Or breathe loudly in their sleep. And God help you if you slurp your noodles. Sleeping situation: He's mildly insomniac (he's extremely sensitive to noise and wakes up very easily; an imperturbable charm helps with that but he's still prone to waking up,) but he will not get out of bed after he goes down for the night, so he spends a lot of time staring at the ceiling. Behavior in class: Exactly like you'd expect. He listens very attentively and takes copious notes but does not contribute to class discussions unless forced to, and he saves his questions for after class (and then, only if he trusts the teacher. Which isn't so much of a problem this year because by this point he's whittled his class load down and become very used to the teachers he has, but in his sophomore year was very problematic for him.) He HATES group assignments with a PASSION. Behavior out of class: More of the same. He's quiet. He observes. He doesn't interact with many people. HE'S STRONG AND SILENT AND MYSTERIOUS or so the generous/romantic students perhaps believe. Clique: He sticks with the music kids and the Ribbonfin seniors. He likes Ravi and Kurt and Diego and Rafael, mostly. I really need to find him a bestie SOMEONE BE HIS BESTIE. Music: LOL all of it. He's very partial to instrumental music, especially piano compositions, for reasons that are more or less obvious, but he'll listen to anything that isn't, like, thrash metal. He likes jazz a lot too. And I think Diego has made him somewhat fond of whiny white-boy music. Physical disposition: Hahaha no he's exactly like he is in the journals: quiet and kind of stiff unless he's in a situation where he feels very comfortable. It's obvious he doesn't like most people touching him from the way he holds himself; but when he actually is comfortable with someone, he's kind of touch-starved and will initiate random shoulder-pats or sit close enough that arms brush, etc. He needs love, y'all. He's just not good at getting or accepting it. Sexual partners: You're hilarious. Rumors: 1. is he asexual (no) 2. is he gay (yes) 3. is he a robot (probably not) 4. are he and kurt psychic (?) 5. what is his problem anyway (so much and not actually anything all at once.) Name: Adeline Rebecca Foster-Hayes Age: Just turned 17! Birthing order and has this affected them: She is the most middle child in the whole world. Honestly. This is in her app too, but to recap! Her older sister is studying at George Washington University in DC. Her little sister will probably win the Nobel Peace Prize someday. Addy had to make up for all that stability and traumatize her mother. It’s a dirty job, you guys. Daily schedule: Addy gets up when she wants; which is sometimes really early, and other times nine minutes before her first class. She tends not to have much of a schedule, and even keeps classes optional sometimes. This is absolutely how she gets detention. But yeah, she could be anywhere at any given time and is largely the worst for punctuality/keeping things in time. Pet Peeves: The point system. Sleeping situation: She sleeps head first into her pillows in a cloud of hair. She wears a tank top and no pants or a sweatshirt and no pants, depending on the season. She likes to keep a window open when it’s nice; she loves fresh air at night. Behavior in class: That depends on the class! Most of the time, in Potions and Wizard Lit, she’s participatory and interested. She gives little asides from time to time, but they’re usually relevant and often surprisingly smart (what.) Any other class, though, and on bad days even in her favorite two, she’s wandering around either physically or with her eyes, not paying attention. She’s not disruptive, but she’ll talk to neighbors too much. Behavior out of class: Almost identical to the journals, even in speech patterns. She actually probably uses real life as a continuation of journal convos a LOT. She’s extremely warm, very social, very flighty. She does make a point to rarely be alone. And when she is alone, it’s Actually Alone in her dorm or out in the woods somewhere, not in public. Clique:Lol god who isn't in Addy’s clique. Her bff 4 life is Sofia. Her big brother figure is Cecil. They are the two people who probably know most about her, but she's more often hip to hip with Sofia. But she hangs around literally everyone else too. She loves her Azurbabes like her sisters. She hero worships Azurcrest seniors and flings herself at them sometimes literally. She has adopted and thus checks constantly in on...so many freshmen and sophomores plus Ryan. And that’s not mentioning all the other people in her year, and out of it, that she has formed weird friendships with. She will talk to literally anyone. She will talk to a wall. Music: Personal hero Nicki Minaj should p much tell you all there is to know about THAT. If she can dance to it, she loves it. But her angry music is the Killers I think. She is kind and uses headphones, but also dances to the headphones so that’s fun, roommates. Physical disposition: Addy's expressive, but she isn't that loud in public. She's very fond of physical affection, and gives lots of hugs. She can talk for a long time, if you want to. But she's also completely okay with just sitting with people quietly. She's flighty in person, and talks with her hands a lot. She has very bird like body language, and sometimes goes on to her toes to emphasize a point. It's very AzurApproriate. She’s usually smiling; it usually looks like she’s up to something. LATELY, though, since the Big Punch Scandal, she’s been markedly about 90% quieter and while she gives the people she likes little smiles, she hasn’t been sticking around to talk to them. She’s probably spent most of her time in her dorm, reading. She does that when she gets upset. But that is turning around a little as of yesterday! Sexual partners: She has done a lot with a lot of people starting probably too early but eh. She at some point last year was basically making out with people like it was shaking hands. The naivete- bordering on immaturity- is a direct result. Daily schedule: I don't think Gabi sticks to much of a schedule. Daily schedule: Bed who goes running are you trying to torture her? Pet Peeves: People? When people come to a FULL STOP when turning a corner in a car.
