hey girl heyyyyyy
OH HELLO.

Madeline here and I'm back from hiatus! Italy was amazing but I am soooo looking forward to just chilling out with my puppies and not needing to be a translator/guide/bodyguard for my mother, while I try not to miss espresso and good pesto and fresh porcini mushrooms too much. (OH YEAH, FRESH PORCINI MUSHROOMS ON EVERYTHING. HEAVEN ON EARTH. /chef nerd time over.)

That being said, I have a ton to catch up on, a lot of intros I missed, and a new boy to bring to you all! Because I was a jerk and apped him before I left. . .ANYWAYS.

SO. [info]paytee, call him Wes: Coppertale Senior, lanky Cajun boy from the swamps, formerly of St. Cyprian's before coming to Gooseberry because the kid is damn good at Potions. He's in music and drama and some other extracurriculars and clubs also, including outdoor exploration, but if there's an opportunity to show off he's there.

• Grew up in south Louisiana in a strong Cajun community. Speaks Cajun French and is all drawls and swagger and cockiness and flirtation. I apologize ahead of time.
• Had to leave his home after Hurricane Katrina leveled his family's farm, doesn't speak of this a lot, maybe only to close friends. Because traumatic life experiences are not cute, he would say.
• Learned to bounce back and cruise by on his wits and flattery, is a lover and not a fighter, and loves being the center of attention.
• Crazy good at Potions, especially healing remedies.
• ALSO. He is in the works to becoming a Cajun traiteur, or a folk/faith healer, which means one day in the far off future he will be able to heal with his hands. Passed down from his grandmother. What this means is right now he can't actually heal anything with his bare hands, but he can repair broken material objects if his hands are on it and not use his wand, and he can also detect pain in the body. It's baby steps, he's got a long ways to go.
• Not your average Coppertale in that he isn't always outspoken and bossy, but instead he really, really loves saying "I done told you so."
• So cocky, knows he's a big deal, needs to get over himself.

So for him - everything! Friends, people he judges ("bless your heart" is a favorite thing of his to say), flings and exes he still acts flirtatious as hell around, you name it!

Now that you've got Wes I'll also give you a refresher of my two other kids, because I missed a looooot with them too.

First up Sybilla Borgin - [info]sibyls, goes by Sylla, Ebonhide junior and Hogwarts exchange student, where she was a Slytherin.

• Her parents are the Borgin & Burke of the nefarious shop in Knockturn Alley. Shady power couple, 8 creepy children with only one of them being a son, basically they're the Victoria and Albert of the dark arts, and Sylla is their Disney princess if Guillermo Del Toro directed a princess movie.
• Northern English, so her accent is a bit muddy and not as cut-glass posh as one would expect.
• Withheld perfectionist, holds herself to way too high of a standard.
• Loves loves LOVES dueling, watching violent sports matches, wearing black and accessorizing with morbid jewelry.
• in animagus training and comes to Senior sessions too. Stressed out about what her form will be.
• basically an exercise in duality. You can't have dark without light, balance in all things, mastering each side of being a wizard, etc.
• Polite and sweet and dainty at first glance, but duels like a champ and lights a room up when you get her on a tangent about bloody myths and violent Shakespeare tragedies and is a little bent and twisty when you get to know her.

And lastly Holden Bright! [info]blinkah, Ribbonfin junior, Seeker on the Quidditch team, pretty much the only reason he is even here at Gooseberry.

•from Dorchester, south Boston, basically raised muggle with a divorced wizard dad who is a magical literature scholar.
• hates confrontation, actually an ostrich when it comes to drama, tries to solve problems and ends up making them worse or throwing himself under the bus.
• hates being the center of attention away from the Quidditch pitch, because at least there he can zone out and do his own thing.
• follower to an extreme, just wants everyone to be happy, no backbone to speak of.
• loves weird animal facts, has an often-escaping turtle named Ted Williams. It's a female turtle. He didn't correct the mistake.

So yeah it's 5 AM and I'm jet lagged so I probably missed some stuff, tl;dr hit me up with plot for my new boy and my old ones and it's good to be back here!

I definitely see them having that bro relationship where they don't hold onto disagreements too much in the case they do have them, and Wes himself is more of the "ain't nobody got time for that" camp when it comes to grudges of people he has to see everyday. There's lots of "you do you" and "SIMMER DOWN NOW," but Wes means it with love, always. And after all, someone has to check his "I am a blessing on this great green earth" attitude Wes is poisoned with lately :p

I agree with this and Chris, despite his grumpiness doesn't really have the patience for grudges either, so they should get along great. Chris isn't as southern sweet tho, when he probably has a tendency to tell awesome to fuck off.
