In what has been an utterly craptacular week (god I have terrible luck with housemates), today my boss agreed to let me teach Harry Potter as an English unit this year!

To celebrate (and to distract), does anyone want my two for anything?

No you don't. We have a Harry Potter trivial pursuit set (gift from a former student) and I never let them win.

A typical day in my class...

"You've got to learn how to fail as well as how to win... what do you mean, you're only 8?"

Eight-year-olds need to learn that more than anyone, basically. Helps down the line.

That's what I always say. They're a VERY indulged bunch, even by my standards, so I have a lot of days where I have to ignore betrayed looking faces because I told them to go take a seat instead of following me around like baby ducks after a momma duck XD
