Another meme!
Another meme! Sorry it's so close to the last one. I was thinking about this the other day as I realised I still listen to songs from the may02 soundtrack. Then this morning IJ was down so I was pratting about on youtube...

So the second one is a funky tune, but I am disappointed that the chick in it just wandered round in a bikini rather than, you know, surfing.

This is my surfing song for Tiago. This is what I used to sing when I went bodyboarding as a kid. Or, you know, mumble along until the chorus. Oh! Since it says everyone's learning how, we should have it for Tiago teaching Barney :-)

It's a shame I couldn't find translations of the lyrics because they're very relevant for him rather than just for the great tunes. I used both for his app (the Delfins song in the actual app, and a verse from the rap for the cut).

I blame the Brazilian misogyny when it comes to beach and surfing (because that one is actually Brazilian rather than Portuguese).

Ooh yeah. Coming from surfing territory, I do love me some Beach Boys, and that one is definitely apt. If my Tiago muse had developed as female, I would have gone for their Surfer Girl, which is one of my all-time favourites. And hah, definitely agreed!

	Agh, should have mentioned that. Sorry! I can say straight away that the fake cut link says "You don't need to sail, you need to surf." It's a reference to a fado song that says "You need to sail, you don't need to live." As for the rest... I'd need a bit more time to translate, but I can say it's all about longing.
