"Goddamn thorns..."
Emma looked down at her hands which were still marked with angry red scratches from that stupid Bird of Paradise. The damn flower didn't even have thorns naturally! But no...one heavy metal song with Emma singing and the plant had decided to turn into a death trap for her fingers. Luckily enough, she got the thorns to go away before her boss had come around to check on his pride and joy. It was amazing what concentration could do for you, wasn't it? Though, even if the flower was back to normal, her fingers and palms most definitely were not. They weren't bleeding any more, thank God, but they still stung like nobody's business. Needless to say, she was more than anxious to get out of the store and just...go somewhere.
On her way home, she took out her phone, trying to think of people who might be not terribly busy that she could swing by to see. Ethan was probably working, or something, so she decided not to bother him. There was plenty of other time for that anyway. She clicked through numbers, eventually coming to the one belonging to Lexie Tibbits. Huh. Go figure. The two of them had been becoming friends, really. It was weird, but Emma wasn't one against making friends. She never had been. Feeling like it was a good idea, she texted Lexie to see if she was busy or not and to ask if she could come by. While she was at home, contemplating if it was worth it to try and cover all her little scratches with the miniscule supply of band-aids left in her closet, Emma got the text back witha green light. Sweet.
She saved the band-aids, instead just covering her hands with that antibiotic stuff. They still stung like a bitch, but there wasn't any way around that. Soon enough, she was turning up at Lexie's place. She knocked on the door and waited, finding a nice little tune in her head to amuse herself with until the door got opened. What? That was Emma for you!
