Really, it was a good thing that Emma had come across Lexie's number in her phone. Because honestly, there were a lot of people that she knew that weren't in the best of moods lately. A friendly face, even if it was a rather new one, always did a person good. And whenever Emma thought of friendly face nowadays, Lexie definitely came to mind. Even if they really hadn't liked each other through high school and part of college, things were different. It was a wonder how doing something as simple as working on a project could have you getting along with a person. She certainly wasn't complaining about it. When it came to friends, the more, the merrier.
Lexie had the sort of smile that you could easily call contagious. So, in less than a few seconds, Emma went from being annoyed by her scratches to smiling and feeling a heck of a lot better. "Nice to see you too, chica." She came inside as she was led in, fairly amused at how much of a hostess the other girl was. But it was nice. Some people definitely could have cared less. "Nah, I think I'm good," Emma said, running a hand through her vibrant hair. "I'm probably going to end up cooking up a storm later on anyway." And that was the truth.
